"Jesus Christ understands our challenges, having taken on not only our sins but also our griefs, sicknesses, and frailties. Because He endured and completed the infinite atoning sacrifice, He empathizes perfectly with us. He can 'calm [our] anguish' and offers 'gentle … peace … for [our] beseeching.' He, and only He, can consider every factor that shapes who we are: our genetics, intellectual abilities, traditions, experiences, mental and emotional conditions, and every other circumstance that affects who we are. He, and only He, will eventually judge us 'according to [our] works, according to the desire of [our] hearts.'

“COVID brought us home to Tucson, where we met working at Walmart. We dated briefly, but when school reopened and our faith paths didn’t line up, we decided to go our separate ways.

“But we never stopped talking. Even while living in different states, we stayed in touch. Eventually I moved to California, and we picked things back up.

“I told McLain I would explore his church, but I needed to do it alone. If I was going to find faith, it had to be between me and God and not me trying to follow someone else’s.

“So I met with missionaries for over a year. I asked questions. I prayed. I prayed again. And when I chose baptism, I didn’t even invite him. Not because he didn’t matter, but because it needed to be my choice, not ours.

“McLain supported that completely. That meant everything.

“Since then, it hasn’t all been easy, navigating big decisions with family and learning a whole new culture of faith but we’ve seen God in every step.

“We were sealed in the temple this year, and my parents were supportive and showed up with so much love. That meant the world.

“I may not have found the Church without McLain, but I didn’t join it for him. I joined because God led me here. Our story is proof that conversion is personal, timing is sacred, and God writes better endings than we ever could.” —Elyse

“I was headed down a dangerous path when the missionaries knocked on my door.

"At the time, I was angry at the world and carrying around so much hatred that I thought revenge would finally bring me peace. I was spiritually exhausted and searching for something bigger than myself. I remember praying and basically telling God, ‘If You’re real, You better send somebody.’

"The next morning, two missionaries showed up at my house.

"Two young missionaries standing at my door, smiling like they weren’t scared at all. Looking back now, I know God sent them to me. They changed the entire direction of my life.

"It took me two years to join the Church because I had a lot to let go of. Anger. Pride. The life I had built. But little by little, the Savior softened me. He didn’t just change my beliefs. He changed my heart.

"Since then, I’ve spent my life trying to help people instead of hurt them. I served in the military for 35 years, worked with gang members, inmates, and kids growing up around violence. I’ve organized prayer groups, community outreach programs, and basketball tournaments just to bring people together. I’ve learned that most people don’t need someone to judge them. They need someone to see them.

"I used to think strength meant making people fear you. Now I think real strength is loving people when it’s inconvenient. It’s showing up. It’s listening. It’s praying with someone on a street corner. It’s trying to see people the way Jesus Christ sees them.

"The older I get, the more I realize none of this was really about me. God took a man who was filled with anger and gave him a completely different purpose. I should’ve become somebody else entirely. Instead, I became Brother Johnson.” —John

"I grew up in Ghana as the third of three sisters, surrounded by culture, music, and a family full of faith. Moving to the United States at 17 was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. I worried I wouldn’t be accepted or understood, but every ward and every city I’ve lived in has wrapped me in a kind of love that felt like home. I’ve learned that when people are rooted in Jesus Christ, you can feel it instantly. Their warmth, kindness, and openness make you feel like you belong, even before you know a single name.

"Chicago became home to me because of that love. The gospel has shaped my friendships, deepened my confidence, and strengthened my testimony in ways I never expected. I’ve felt God guide me through loneliness, homesickness, new beginnings, and even illness. Relief Society sisters brought me food when I was sick with COVID. Strangers in new wards welcomed me as if they had known me forever. Those small acts have shown me again and again how deeply God is aware of me.

"I hear Him strongest through music. Hymns have always felt like home; they are familiar in a way that touches something eternal. When I sing, or when I pause long enough to really listen, I feel the Spirit calm my anxious thoughts and remind me that God already has my life figured out. He knows where I’m going. He knows where I’ve been. And He has never stopped guiding me.

In a new video from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elder Geritt W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles explores “how to hear God’s voice clearly in an age of artificial intelligence (AI), and why that distinction matters more now than ever.”

“Can artificial intelligence replace God?” Elder Gong asks in the hour-long, gospel workshop video now available on YouTube. “That question may sound provocative, but in an age when we turn to algorithms for answers, guidance and even comfort, it matters deeply.”

"In moments of pain, loneliness, or confusion, we know that our Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son are aware of our circumstances and that They yearn to bless us. The Savior’s words are clear:

"'Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

"'For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened' (Matthew 7:7–8).

"Opening the windows of heaven through fervent prayer does not require the use of many words or flowery language. Rather, the diligence in prayer which Heavenly Father requires of us is to 'pour out [our] souls' in private places and have our hearts 'drawn out in prayer unto him continually' (Alma 34:26–27)."

“I’m Grace, originally from Fiji. My husband is from Tuvalu, so our family is a blend of both of our cultures—something that’s really special, but not always easy to navigate.

"One of the hardest things for me has been learning how to build a home that reflects both of our backgrounds while also centering it on our faith. There were moments where I felt like I was being pulled in different directions—what I grew up with, what he grew up with, and what we wanted for our kids. I remember feeling overwhelmed, like I was running in circles trying to figure it out.

"But over time, we started focusing on what we call a ‘Jesus-centered culture’ in our home. That changed everything for me. It gave me clarity. It helped me let go of the fear of what others might think—even my own family. I used to worry they would judge me or not understand, but as I became more confident in my beliefs, they actually began to respect it.

"I’ve been a member of the Church for about nine years now. I converted when I was 20, and I think one thing I didn’t expect is that it doesn’t suddenly become easy after baptism. If anything, it takes more effort to keep that faith strong. But I’ve learned that even when I don’t have everything figured out, if I just keep turning to God—through prayer, through the temple, through the scriptures—He meets me where I am.

"Lately, I’ve been trying to hear Him more through the scriptures. Before, I would mostly feel Him during hard moments, but now I’m learning how to recognize Him in the quiet, everyday things. Even doing Come, Follow Me with my kids—it’s simple, but it’s powerful.

"I don’t have all the answers. But I do know that faith—just having faith—is enough to keep moving forward.” —Grace

In Alma 32:27, “He [Alma] teaches here that any amount of faith is enough for God.”

Choosing to "exercise a particle of faith" every day will increase the strength of your faith little by little.

“It was around the age of 15 that I began to gain my testimony. I remember that my school friends and classmates already had different habits—things that didn’t happen in my family because we’re members of the Church. They would invite me to do things that I didn't feel comfortable doing.

"At that point, I had to ask myself what I truly wanted for my life. Was I living the gospel because I knew it was true, or simply because I had been taught to live that way since I was little?

"That year, I had that question on my mind a lot. Deep down, I knew it was true, but maybe I didn’t feel it very strongly. Then, that year, I went to FSY here in Argentina.

"And I remember that’s where I felt the Spirit very strongly for the first time—while I was reading the scriptures. I was studying them alone, out in a field, and I felt the Spirit so strongly. I couldn’t deny it was the Spirit, because I had already felt it.

"The gospel is what gives meaning to my life—it’s what gives my life purpose. Since that time, I’ve learned that I’m not alone in this life, that I really do have a purpose.” — Joaquin

We in Louth are sad to announce the passing of Brother Brian Truby who left us on Monday 6th April to rejoin his beloved wife Joyce . He will be sadly missed by all and was a true disciple of Christ . We will post Zoom details of the funeral on here

This week we say goodbye to Elder and Sister Christiansen , they have spent 14 months with us at the Louth Branch serving lovingly and with great dedication helping the members grow Spiritually and Temporarily. This wonderful couple will be always remembered fondly and have entered the Hearts of all. God be with you till we meet again
