Emmanuel Church Lunchtime Concerts

Lunchtime Concerts at Emmanuel Church, Loughborough Lunchtime Concerts take place every month from Autumn to Spring.

Admission is free although we appreciate your donations to help cover both the specific and general running costs of putting on this concerts and to enable us to book an increasing number of professional musicians. A soup and roll lunch is served from 12:00 before each concert.

What a spending audience for the Lunchtime Concert by Joseph Geary and Issa Diallo last week. Almost 200 in the audience.

We have had to make some changes to two forthcoming concerts so the updated flyer is attached.

The performers from the April Concert have moved to February, the Capricco Ensemble will now be performing in April. You may see on the flyer that the number of instrumentalists has increased from four to six. This is facilitate a performance of two Rhapsodys. Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and Turina's Rapsodia Sinfónia. Further programme details will follow later.

It's almost time for our next Lunchtime Concert. Come and revel in the virtuosity of two students from the Royal Academy of Music, London. Poulenc's sparkling Sonata for Flute and Piano is followed by the refinement of a Bach Partita. The programme ends with the virtuosic Fantasie on a theme of Schubert by Böhm.

It's tomorrow: Thursday 17 October 2024 — the first Lunchtime Concert of the 2024-2025 season. The recital programme for cello and piano by Tori Norman and Jeremy Kimber is:

Admission is free but we greatly value your donations which enable us to continue to put on these concerts.

It's here! The flyer for the 2023-2024 season of Emmanuel Church Lunchtime Concerts. We hope you will enjoy the programme and look forward to welcoming you to the first concert on Thursday 12 October.

The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that the original post regarding next week's lunchtime concert had the incorrect date. This has now been amended. The date of the next concert really is Thursday 20 April 2023. The concert starts at 12:45.

Come along and hear music for two pianos (or Steinway Grand and Roland digital piano). Works by Handel, Bach, Mozart and Rachmaninov are in the programme.

Lunches served from 12:00.

Admission to the concert is free but we are very grateful for donations to help cover the expenses.

It's only two days until the next of the Emmanuel Church Lunchtime Concerts. Come along on Thursday 16 February at 12:45 to hear about the little-known, English composer F E Bache (1833-1858). There will also be music by Chopin and Liszt.

It you want to enjoy some of the famous soup, arrive around midday.

Admission is free, but your donations to help fund these concerts are much appreciated.

Kerry is hugely experienced as a cathedral organist and has recently retired as organist at Coventry Cathedral.

Come and hear him as he puts the spotlight on Emmanuel's organ!
