We are made to worship. In a world vying for our praise and attention, God's glory demands all our awe and affection. One of the greatest dangers in our corporate worship is how often we begin to place ourselves at the center. Church services may slowly become more about our preferences, our accomplishments, and our traditions than God's glory. This pitfall is especially dangerous for those of us who stand in front of the church and have to fight our own pride every moment.

Christ alone is worthy of our praise. This is the heart behind the new song "Not to Us" from Matt Papa, Matt Boswell, and Matt Redman. There is one Name that will last throughout the ages. We will be forgotten. He will remain. May our songs, our sermons, and our services exemplify that "he must increase, I must decrease" (John 3:30).

The "Songs of Praise" will take place on Sunday 19th February at 2.30pm in St James Church. Refreshments will be served after in the Church Hall. Admission free. A warm welcome is extended to all.

Monthly music at St James’ Church started with a Songs of Praise in October. Both old and new hymns were sung by all. Some solo items were included and also prayers, readings and meditative music. This was a very special time of worship, enjoyed by all.

We are now preparing for our next afternoon of music which will take place on Sunday 6th November at 2.30pm in the Fellowship Hall. The Dotty Crotchets will be performing a programme of light entertainment. Refreshments will be served in the hall after the concert.

There will be a Christmas Concert on Friday 9th December at 7pm in the church featuring The Lossie Singers, children’s group, soloists, instrumentalists and carols for all.
Refreshments will be served in the hall after the concert.

All are welcome and we very much look forward to seeing you.
