​Significance of Esala Poya

​Esala Full Moon Poya Day marks the beginning of the Vassāna (Rains Retreat) period, during which the monastic Sangha observe a three-month retreat ending in October. This holy season culminates in the annual Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony, which takes place through the lunar month of November.
​All are welcome to participate and accumulate merit! 🙏🙏🙏

A large group of Bangladeshi Chakma Buddhists gathered at ELBCC on 9th May to host a Dana ceremony in loving memory of Robbie Jhilik Chakma, a 16-year-old boy from Grays who passed away suddenly. The ceremony was hosted by his family — his father, Mr. Kaladong Chakma, and his mother, Mrs Kaberi Chakma. Jhilik's younger brother is a current student at our Dhamma School.
May Jhilik Chakma Attain the Supreme Bliss of Nibbana!
