Brick Lane Jamme Masjid

Brick Lane Jamme Masjid A unique 18th Century building having housed the three Abrahamic faiths from Christianity (Church) to Judaism (Synagogue) and now Islam serving as a Mosque
(1)

Facilities available for brothers and sisters. Sisters entrance is below the minaret and can also be accessed via an entrance on Fournier Street. Brick Lane Jamme Masjid primarily serves as a spiritual hub for Muslims both far and near. Located in the heart of Tower Hamlets, home to many diverse ethnic communities and faiths, the mosque plays a key role in bridging communities, strengthening inter

faith understanding and seeks to present Islam to the wider society – providing tours, study circles, conferences and so on. The mosque is a community based, independent and non-profit organisation funded by contributions from members of our community. Running a charity of this size and complexity requires the dedication and support of a great number of people. Our heartfelt thanks and prayers go to the great many people and organisations that support the mosque and make all things possible. The mosque is open seven days a week from 12pm until late evening, worshippers can always find a spiritual retreat, whether it’s from the busy city life or just exploring the local attractions.

Madrasah Students Enjoy Educational Visit to Cambridge Central Mosque

Students from Brick Lane Jamme Masjid Madrasah, together with local children, enjoyed a memorable educational visit to Cambridge Central Mosque on Wednesday, 12 August 2026.

The visit formed part of our wider educational programme, giving the children an opportunity to learn outside the classroom, experience one of the UK’s most distinctive mosques and strengthen their connection with the masjid and their Islamic identity.

During the visit, the children explored the beautiful mosque and learned about its unique architecture, environmentally conscious design and the important role a mosque plays in serving both Muslims and the wider community.

The trip was also a wonderful opportunity for the children to spend time together, develop friendships and appreciate the diversity of Muslim communities beyond their local area.

At Brick Lane Jamme Masjid, we believe that Islamic education extends beyond the Madrasah classroom. Educational visits such as this help bring learning to life, broaden our children's experiences and encourage them to develop a lifelong connection with the masjid.

We would like to thank Cambridge Central Mosque for welcoming our students and children, as well as our Madrasah teachers, staff, volunteers and parents who helped make the visit possible.

May Allah ο·» reward everyone who contributed to the day, bless our children with beneficial knowledge and enable them to grow into confident Muslims who positively contribute to their communities. Ameen.
