St Paul's Cathedral Choir

St Paul's Cathedral Choir Welcome to St Paul's Cathedral Choir - made up of Choristers & Vicars Choral. Follow us on Twitter . Directed by Andrew Carwood.

Leading worship for over 900 years. St Paul’s Cathedral Choir is regarded as one of the best in the world, and regularly leads services of national importance, such as the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen in 2012, and the funeral of Baroness Thatcher in 2013. The choir is widely recorded and tours regularly. It has appeared throughout Europe, Asia, North and South America. There has been a

choir at St Paul’s Cathedral since around 1127, and the choral foundation continues to thrive almost 1000 years later. Each week, the 30 boy choristers and 12 vicars choral provide music for 8 sung services. The training of boy choristers is an ancient tradition and is the life-blood of the Cathedral today. We look forward to sharing this rich musical heritage with our supporters across the world.

Does your child love to sing? 🎵

Since 2024, girls have been part of our world-renowned choir. All our girl chorister places are full for 2026 entry, but we’ve still got a few places left for boys!

If you know a boy in Year 4 or 5 who loves to sing, this could be the opportunity of a lifetime. Alongside world-class musical training, choristers receive an excellent education at our cathedral school and become part of a warm, nurturing community.

📆 Our next information session is on Tuesday, 12th May at 6pm.

We have been thinking about and praying for Robert Rice since the devastating news of his death. Berty will remain in our hearts as a brilliant singer, a naturally thoughtful musician and a steadfast friend. He was a regular member here at St Paul's Cathedral. As you watch and listen to Psalm 121, please remember him and his family with love.

"Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet prince
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
