Clouds
(Matthew 17:5)
Stanley W. Hurst

When thunderclouds appear
I think of man.
Not man of mortal mist,
Born of cold ground.
I recall the "bright cloud,"
Wherein God's voice was heard
Declaring His loved Son
The object of His pleasure.
By that Word
I find God's perfect man,
The spiritual idea
Christ came to prove,
Immune from passing thunder,
Who in Love does live and move.

Then fearful mists of earth
Drift and dissolve
In warming presence
Of God's changeless love.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus”

(Philippians 4:6, 7, The Living Bible translation)

Ask yourself: Am I living the life that approaches the supreme good? Am I demonstrating the healing power of Truth and Love? If so, then the way will grow brighter “unto the perfect day.”

A very thought-provoking article to complement this week's Christian Science Bible Lesson.

There are around 20 references to the words eternal and eternity in this week's Christian Science Bible Lesson on "Life" (God). This archive editorial, "From all eternity" by former Associate Editor Peter Henniker-Heaton takes a deep dive into what that concept means to each of us.

Hymn 146 from the Christian Science Hymnal poetically states, "In seamless gratitude I weave a silent, healing prayer, with shining threads of ceaseless joy; for man is God's great heir."

What are you grateful for? What "shining threads" have you seen or experienced recently? Tell us in the comments.
