8,000 British Jews Connect to Torah
This year’s Weekend of Inspiration brought together a distinguished delegation of 20 world-renowned educators from Israel and the United States, reaching an estimated 8,000 community members.
The itinerary began on Thursday as educators visited primary and secondary schools in London, engaging students in the classroom before launching a series of evening events in different communities. On Friday morning, the delegation joined Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis, President of Mizrachi UK, for a special launch event together with communal leaders. Speeches from the Chief Rabbi, Rav Doron Perez and the new joint-head of Mizrachi UK, David Reuben set the tone for the days to come. David Reuben said, “Mizrachi is not only about our connection to Eretz Yisrael it is about strengthening Jewish identity, resilience, and unity wherever we are. It is about ensuring that when moments of fear arise, they are met with faith; when there is uncertainty, we respond with clarity of purpose; and when there are challenges, we stand stronger—together.”
The delegation featured giants of the Jewish world, including; Rav Hershel Schachter, Rav Doron Perez and Rabbanit Shani Taragin.
These educators spent Shabbat embedded within local communities, delivering shiurim and leading discussions that brought the contemporary Torah of Eretz Yisrael directly to over 30 communities in London and Manchester.
The weekend culminated on Sunday with the "Day of Inspiration." Learning hubs in Edgware and Hendon remained buzzing all day as hundreds gathered to engage and learn.
"Seeing 8,000 members of our community—young and old—coming together to learn from Torah scholars is a testament to the vibrancy of our organisation," said David Reuben, Executive Director of Mizrachi UK. "This isn’t just about one weekend; it’s about the lasting impact of connecting our community to Israel through Torah."
The success of the 2026 weekend reinforces Mizrachi UK’s position as a central pillar of communal life, ensuring the "heartbeat" of Religious Zionism remains a primary force in the UK.
