The Kena Upanishad teaches a timeless lesson about ego and humility. Through a symbolic story, powerful forces become proud after success, believing they are unstoppable. But when challenged by something tiny, they fail. The message is deeply relevant today. In a world obsessed with status, money, followers, and image, the Upanishad reminds us that true wisdom begins when ego becomes smaller and awareness becomes greater. Real strength is not arrogance — it is self-understanding, humility, discipline, and recognising a reality greater than ourselves.

Arya Samaj upholds complete equality between men and women, affirming women’s right to education, independence, and participation in all aspects of life. It strongly advocates protection of women’s dignity by opposing child marriage, promoting widow remarriage, and condemning all forms of discrimination and injustice

In Arya Samaj, “Devata” does not mean many separate gods. A Devata is anything that gives light, knowledge, benefit, protection, or upliftment to life. The Sun, air, water, fire, earth, parents, teachers, and noble people can all be called Devata because they help sustain the world. The Vedas teach us to respect and learn from these forces, not blindly worship them. A true Arya seeks to develop Devata-like qualities within themselves — truth, wisdom, compassion, discipline, and service to humanity.

Annaprashan is a sacred Vedic ritual in Arya Samaj, marking a baby's transition from an all-liquid diet to solid food, typically around six months. Performed with a traditional Havan (fire ritual), prayers and Vedic mantras are chanted to bless the child with good health, intelligence, longevity, and a pure mind.

Arya Samaj rejects caste by birth and says a person should be judged by qualities, conduct, and merit rather than hereditary status. It also opposes untouchability and supports equal opportunity for all, while allowing a functional division of work based on ability, not birth

Pranayama is the ancient Vedic practice of controlling and regulating the breath to improve physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. Through slow, deep, and disciplined breathing, pranayama calms the mind, strengthens the lungs, improves concentration, and increases inner peace. It is an important part of Yoga and helps balance the body’s energy and emotions. Regular practice reduces stress, enhances self-discipline, and promotes healthy living. Arya Samaj encourages pranayama as a natural method for achieving harmony between body, mind, and soul.
