Corpus Christi

06/06/2026

Come and join us for our Parish Mass tomorrow 7 June as we celebrate the great feast of Corpus Christi, thanksgiving for the Body and Blood of Christ. There will be a procession of the Blessed Sacrament (weather permitting, outside, but if it is inclement, inside the church) finishing with Benediction. This great feast was instituted by Pope Urban IV in 1263, and the form of service was devised by St Thomas Aquinas. At Benediction we will sing two of the great hymns he wrote for the occasion: 'O salutaris hostia' (O Saving Victim) and 'Tantum ergo' (Therefore we before him bending). All are welcome either in person or on the live stream.

Daily Word: Grace: Grace flows through us, blessing everyone in our path. Grace lifts us and restores our faith when we feel weary or uncertain. We walk in gratitude and trust, expecting our highest good to unfold. Grace expands our heart with understanding and compassion, guiding us to extend kindness and forgiveness. In prayer and stillness,we feel it gently surrounding us, reminding us we are never alone because grace is with us, our constant blessing. Amen. Have a blessed day

Trinity Sunday

30/05/2026

Come and join us at our Parish Mass tomorrow, 31 May, at 10.30 a.m. as we celebrate the mystery of God in three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Christians believe that the Trinity was present at the creation (Genesis 1: the Spirit of God moves over the waters, then 'Let us create Man in our own image' and John 8: 'Before Abraham was, I am' ) and that the Trinity was also present at the baptism of Christ (Mark 1: '.. he saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon him like a dove. Then a voice came from heaven, "You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased"'. The gospel of John makes the role of Jesus as Son of God explicit in his gospel: 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God'. On Sunday we rejoice in the eternal, perfect dance of the Holy Trinity and give thanks for this amazing mystery.
