Dear Worship Minister,
What we do on a weekly basis can be rewarding but I know that it also takes its toll on each member of the team.
As we enter into another year of ministering, allow me to encourage you that what you do is important to God and to the church. Weeks and months may go by and it would seem as if you are not appreciated for the work that you put in; please know that you are an important, critical, and even vital part of what goes on at your church.
I've been there; so, I can say "What you do is important!"
It is very easy to get discouraged when you have a downer for service; when musicians just wouldn't show up and singers haven't practiced or have missed rehearsals and you just struggled to make sure things were together by service time. When you're trying to learn a song and it is just not happening; the music won't sound right; the vocals are no better; and you're frustrated, please know that your efforts are not going unnoticed.
People may not know or understand the ins, outs, whys, whats, hows, whens, and wheres that go into getting ready for Sunday Worship. However, they do, and at some level, appreciate the fact that you're there leading them in worship.
Those of us who are in the ministry appreciate the time and effort it takes to minister to God's glory week after week. We know that there must have been times when it seems that everyone just criticized everything you did and that there have been times when they thought you were the next best thing after sliced bread! Know that you are serving a great purpose where God has placed you.
Please know also that you need to keep doing what you are doing, because the church cannot survive without people like you; who are committed to worship and committed to helping the congregation experience the Presence of God and having a deeper connection to God through your ministry. We appreciate you.
Please surround yourself with people who can support and encourage you during those tough times and who you can uphold in their own times of discouragement. These are people you can be open and vulnerable with.
I just want to encourage you to keep being the necessary resource you are to the Body of Christ.
God bless you.
