St Mary Abbots Church

St Mary Abbots Church St Mary Abbots is a lively, open & inclusive church in west London, with traditional Anglican service Welcome to St Mary Abbots Church Kensington.

We are open every day from 8.30 to 6pm for prayer, reflection, services and the community. We hold 23 services each week, as well as concerts, talks and other events - and all are welcome to join our inclusive church.

Please join us on Tuesday 29 September where Antony Knight, who is now in his third year at the Royal College of Music, will be joining us as part of his 'Pilgrimage of Hope' charity tour, which is raising money for UNICEF - he has so far played at 64 London Churches. He will be playing a Meditation from Thais by Massenet and then Ave Maria by Schubert during the Midday Mass (12 noon). We hope that you will come and support him.

Join us at our Patronal Festival Choral Eucharist on 6 September at 11.15 am. We will be combining our 9.30 am and 11.15 am congregations in order to celebrate together and our professional choir will be back in force after the summer holidays. As usual there will be a lunch afterwards and, after the success of last year, are asking if you would consider bringing and sharing your favourite dish. Last year people were talking for weeks afterwards about the variety of things they’d enjoyed sampling, so please have a think about what you might like to bring!

We are delighted to announce that Fr Christian was licensed on Monday afternoon by Archdeacon Richard, witnessed by his family, the Clergy, the Church Wardens, Staff and PCC representative. Since then he has been attending all of our weekday services and also the school Eucharist this morning (he will take on the role of Chaplain). For those who have not yet met him please come and say hello to him this Sunday, 21st June. Next Sunday, on 28th June at 5.30 pm, there will be a special Choral Evensong for him and members of his former parish in Wiltshire - please do come along.

Next Thursday 25th June we we will be welcoming 65 Lexington Singers from Kentucky for a free lunchtime concert starting at 1pm. There will be a collection for our homeless charity partner, Glass Door at the end of the concert. Please come and welcome the choir, enjoy the concert and help raise funds - all are welcome!
