Last week we said goodbye to our final Beeson Divinity School cross-cultural ministry practicum student of the year, Ben Coggin. Six days a week for two weeks, Ben actively participated in ministry and church life, preaching and teaching, shadowing our pastor Ryan Burton King for a variety of meetings and engagements, and engaging our local community with the gospel through regular evangelism and outreach work, while also learning about our wider church family, local and wider church history, and our philosophy and methodology on several important subjects.
This program is a key annual part of fulfilling our church vision: Looking in, as we let someone from outside our context see and speak into our church family according to God's word, Looking out as we through hosting and equipping serve people who will go on to serve in other places while also reaching our community with Christ's good news, and Looking up as we rely totally on God to help us in all that we do.
