Theme: Greater Love
Sub-Theme: The Death of Christ: The Cost of Greater Love
Text: Romans 5:6–8

The message is centered on understanding the cost of Christ’s love.

While cost refers to the value required to produce something, price is the amount paid by the producer.

Therefore, when we speak about the cost of the love of Christ, we are referring to the sacrifices He made to redeem mankind.

Jesus paid the ultimate price to fulfill divine conditions for our salvation, as seen in Hebrews 9:22. Apostle Paul also reminds believers in 1 Corinthians 6:20 that we were bought with a price and should therefore honour God with our bodies.

The Greater Love of Christ is revealed in what He did to save humanity. This love was not just spoken but it was demonstrated through undeniable sacrifice.

The Components of the Cost of the Greater Love of Christ include:

1.His acceptance to come down to this earth — leaving His glory to dwell among men.

2.Emptying Himself — laying aside His divinity to take on humanity.

3.Maltreatment — He suffered physically, emotionally, and spiritually; He was mocked, ridiculed, and despised, even by the robbers on the cross.

4.Voluntary surrender — He willingly gave Himself for the salvation of mankind.

5.Exemplary living — As seen in John 15, He set a perfect example for us to follow.

6.He died for all — both the godly and the ungodly (2 Corinthians 5:14–15).

These remind us that there is truly no greater love than this: that a man lays down his life for his friends.

In moments of trials and tribulations, we are encouraged to remember that Christ endured far more. He was made a little lower than the angels, yet today, He lives!

Christ died so that we might live—so that we might be celebrated, and not cut off prematurely.

Conclusion
Isaiah 33:7 reminds us that our story is no longer one of mourning. Jesus is no longer on the cross or in the grave. He is risen! Therefore, we have every reason to rejoice, because He lives.
