Saints, there is a call for us to return to a posture of awe, respect, and submission to God’s Word as the foundation for revival.
We call for revival, but how can this happen when our hearts are not in the right place for the things of God or we do not put God's Word at the centre of our lifestyle.
It’s not just about being spiritually reawakened—it’s about honouring the authority and holiness of Scripture.
Our reverence of God's Word implies humility and total surrender. It’s recognising God’s Word as sacred, not just useful or as and when needed.
Yes, we can be emotional, energetic about revival, but it's more than this. Revival is rooted in deep respect and obedience.
It suggests that transformation begins when we treat God’s Word with the weight it deserves, allowing it to shape our thoughts, actions, words and deeds.
- Isaiah 66:2: “These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.”
- Hebrews 12:28: “Let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe.”
So in essence, we are being called to worship through obedience, to let reverence for Scripture be the soil from which revival grows. This is a powerful call to spiritual renewal—a renewed passion for God. Putting Him first in our daily lives. God has called us to return to holiness, so that we can experience a deep transformation of the heart, according to the quote by Spurgeon.
To revive ourselves means to immerse in God's Word—reading, meditating, and obeying it. Letting His truth confront our sin, comfort our wounds, and reshape our plans and desires.
- 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people…will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways…”
Revival begins with repentance and seeking God through His Word.
Revival isn’t just for churches or nations—it’s deeply personal by letting Scripture breathe life back into our souls and it's the spark that ignites transformation.
