The very hot heatwaves this summer have reduced the local harvest but not the generosity of those who brought such an abundance of food for the Hive Foodbank. Praise God!

This Sunday, it's Harvest Festival!

Join us at 10.30am for a service focusing on food and farming, giving thanks for all the produce that we enjoy.

Today we celebrated Creationtide and enacted Ezekiel's vision of life-giving water flowing from the temple, the river is renewed with fish swimming freely, leaves return to the trees.
May we carry the living water to others, bringing replenishment and hope.

This Sunday, at 10.30am, bring your rucksack to church!
As the academic year gets underway, we'll have the annual Blessing of the Backpacks, to remind us that God travels with us into all the places we spend our time, giving us peace, courage and wisdom.
See you there! ๐ŸŽ’

This weekend, a group of us will be at Greenbelt! As such, we will not have a Sunday service at St George's. Join us in for Holy Communion in the grounds of Boughton House (day tickets still available), or if you're staying in town, why not join in with our neighbouring church St Luke's West Holloway - or visit the mothership St Paul's Cathedral!

Today we said a sad but joyful farewell to Revd Jimmy Anderson, as he leaves for pastures new - and new flocks for him to shepherd.
We shall miss his puppet skills at Bubble Church, his veggie chilli curry, his leading of a very thoughtful Lent course on the Eucharist, playing the piano, even his sermons - yes, really!!
Alexandra asked him what first drew him to St George's, and he said it was some words on the website "Come as You are".
This speaks to everyone - wherever you are in your faith journey, you are welcome.
God bless, Jimmy, our love and prayers go with you.

Tomorrow we give our thanks and say our fond farewells to our fantastic curate, Jimmy. We are so sad to see him leave St George's after being a hugely important part of the church family, and having witnessed him journey from tentative church returner through to being made a priest! Join us for his last service here at 10.30am as we pray God's blessing over his new chapter in the Chelmsford Diocese.
