Our Partners, Trinity Homeless Projects, are thrilled they now have a published author in their ranks.
Debra Harrison of their Rent Team recently had her debut as a children's author, with her brand new book Lottie Got Lost!

"This is my first book and the idea came to me when I befriended a stray cat at my allotment. Eventually I took her home and named her Lottie. As she settled in, I often wondered what her life was like before we met, and this became the inspiration for my story. Along with the imagination of my seven-year-old niece Jessica, the story came alive and was eventually created."

Trinity is a wonderful charity supporting homeless people in Hillingdon & Slough – one of their activities is a shop selling recycled furniture based in a property we own in Hayes, Middlesex, where there are also three flats accommodating eight people.

In this time of remembrance 🇬🇧🌺 our minds turn to the early days of Vincent House. In 1940 shortly after its opening, the House rapidly filled up with residents, many of whom were involved in the war efforts. In late summer that year, London became subject to the Blitz, a strategic bombing campaign conducted against the capital and other cities in England from September of 1940 through May of 1941.
Sadly we do not have many details of the residents of that time, but we believe some worked for the Ministry of War including, possibly, in military intelligence, which means we may have had a spy (or even spies) living at Vincent House! We will never know, but we do know that many of our residents will have had important roles during the War and we can look back and be grateful for their contribution.
