Burnt Ash Methodist Church

Burnt Ash Methodist Church Sunday Service: 10:30am. Open Wednesday: 10am-Midday Worship is often traditional with the benefit of an electronic organ, video projector and good sound system.

Burnt Ash Methodist Church is in a suburban, multi-cultural setting, a member of the Churches Together in Lee. We are a welcoming and inclusive community that worships together on Sunday mornings at 10:30 and at our weekly fellowship drop-in on Wednesday mornings between 10:00-12:00. We have a dedicated family service on the first Sunday of each month where we worship together across generations.

We love welcoming visitors and new people and warmly invite all to join us on Sundays and Wednesdays if you're able. The Church was established in 1883 and the original building remains as the back hall with the current church building built in1920’s with the addition, subsequently, of a large modern hall and facilities for the disabled. There are a small number of regular children and young people who share in our worship and who join our worship band with percussion instruments at the monthly family service. The church enjoys a variety of preachers offering flexibility in worship style. There is a wide range of activities meeting in the church property, pre-school, drama, dance and badminton and other lettings.

Remove from us the fear that we are insufficient and that you are unresponsive. Instead replace it with the knowledge that all we have is you and one another, And that is enough.

Today, on Easter Sunday, we celebrate Jesus' resurrection three days after His death on the cross.

May the risen Christ fill your soul with joy today.
May you live as one who has seen the empty tomb and cannot keep the good news to yourself.

Creator God, we acknowledge your part in composing the stories and the songs of our lives, bringing us into being, and setting before us opportunities to explore and grow into the people you made us to be.

Saviour God, we rejoice at the way in which you bring life and harmony into the stories and songs of our lives, enabling us to discover our true selves through a relationship with you, and giving us the confidence to live life to the full.

Inspiring God, we are thankful for the ability you give us to tell our stories and rehearse the songs of our lives, enabling others to grasp the wonder of how their stories and songs intertwine with yours.

May we always be looking for the new stories and the fresh songs that you have for us to inhabit and sing, as we seek to live our lives in the depths of your amazing grace. In the name of Christ. Amen.
