Corporate Prayer: A Kneeling People

Heavenly Father,
We come before You as one body, one church, one people—
not trusting in our strength,

not leaning on our wisdom,

but bowing in humble dependence before You.
Lord, we acknowledge today
that every great movement of God
can be traced to a kneeling figure.

Before You moved in power,
someone knelt in surrender.

Before You released revival,
someone cried out in prayer.

Before You changed nations,
someone bowed their heart before You.

Therefore, O God, we kneel before You—

empty us of pride,

empty us of self-sufficiency,

empty us of distractions,

empty us of prayerlessness and complacency.

Make us a praying church.

Make us a kneeling people.

Teach us again the power of waiting on You,

the authority that flows from humility,

and the strength that comes from total surrender.

Lord, let our altars burn again.

Let secret prayer produce public power.
Let what is birthed on our knees
shake homes, cities, and nations for Your glory.

We declare that we will not rush ahead of You.
We will not stand where we should kneel.

We will not speak without first listening.
We will not move without first praying.

Holy Spirit, revive our prayer life.

Unite our hearts in intercession.

Restore the joy of seeking Your face.

And let our knees touch heaven
until heaven touches the earth.

Father, raise from among us
men and women who know how to kneel,
leaders who lead from the place of prayer,
and a church that moves forward
because it first bows low before You.

We kneel today, Lord—
and from this place of surrender,
we ask You to move mightily among us.

In Jesus’ mighty name we pray.
Amen.
