CHRIST INTRODUCED OUTSIDE OF RELIGION

Matthew chapter 3 relates to us the principle of the introducing of Christ—this also is absolutely outside of religion. John the Baptist was the one who recommended Christ to the people. He was born a priest, but he would not remain in the priesthood, he would not stay in the temple or even in the city of Jerusalem. We read that he was in the wilderness. He stayed in a wild place, and even he himself became wild. He wore camel’s hair. The camel, according to Leviticus chapter 11, was an unclean animal. But John said in effect, "You say, according to your religious regulation, that the camel is unclean. Then I must be such a camel!" What would you say? John acted in a way radically opposed to religion. And consider his diet. He ate wild honey and locusts. He had no religion, and he had no culture; he was versus religion, and he was versus human culture. He was not in the temple. He had no altar to offer sacrifices, he had nothing related to religion or even to human culture.

Not long ago in Los Angeles a brother came to the meetings wearing a blanket. This blanket was a real test to some of the people. But John the Baptist wore camel’s hair. The blanket was cultured, treated, and made with human hands, but the camel’s hair worn by John the Baptist was absolutely raw. He was wild; he was really wild. This was the pioneer, the forerunner of Christ. It was he who stood there and, seeing Christ coming, exclaimed to the people, "Behold, the Lamb of God." It was he who said that he saw the Spirit as a dove descending from heaven upon Christ, and he knew that it was He who would baptize in the Holy Spirit. What can we say? He said nothing about the ten commandments. He gave that up. He said, "Behold the Lamb of God." He pointed to the One who would baptize in the Holy Spirit, and he said, "Repent!" John did not teach people about religion—he called on them to repent, to change their mind, to change their concept about religion and culture. He did not tell them to do something, he baptized them, he buried them, he terminated them. John said, "I baptize you in water, but He that comes after me will baptize you in the Holy Spirit."

What would you say? Jesus was recommended in such a wild way. Would you believe? Would you take it? He was recommended by a wild person in a wild way with nothing to do with religion. Hallelujah for John the Baptist! He was really good.

CHRIST FOLLOWED OUTSIDE OF RELIGION

Matthew 4 tells us that after Jesus was introduced, there were some dear ones who followed Him. Who were they? The high priests? The scribes? No. They were the Galilean fishermen. Some were fishing in the sea, others were mending their nets—they were unlearned people, but they followed Jesus. And they began to follow not in Jerusalem, not in the temple, and not even in the Holy Land, but in Galilee, a place then considered as "of the Gentiles" (Matt. 4: 15).

You see, the birth of Christ, the finding of Christ, the introducing of Christ, and the following of Christ were entirely apart from religion. Then, Hallelujah, Jesus came: He not only came in His birth, but He also came of age; He came forth to minister, He presented Himself to the people. He was there; He came to the people; there was no need to go and find Him.

The Lord of Glory would say to you today, "I am the light and the revelation of the times and the seasons. And these seasons and these times change for your benefit. I am advising you to get up from whatever position you have seated yourself in and go with Me on this great journey that will create a new dimension of excitement in your life. And, the blessings that will flow out of it will indeed cause you to know that I am the Lord of all things. I am the Lord of your provision, your healing and of your relationship with Me. You and I will become one in this time."

The changes that take place at this time will require all of the concentration that you can muster. You must be focused and deliberately walk and live in My Spirit, says the Lord. Your nature must become My nature if we are to become One. You cannot walk in the Spirit and still try to gain access from outside of yourself. I am in you!

Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

I speak to many when I say that you have become distracted with worldly concerns to the point of falling asleep spiritually. Now is the time to shake yourself awake and get on the path of walking in the Spirit. I want you to live in Me and live your faith, says the Lord. I did not call you to religious exercise, but to a vital and strong relationship with Me. This will require a shift in focus.
John 14:20 "At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

This is a time when small corrections will reap big benefits. Don't overlook anything that grabs your attention even for a moment, for I will show you the power of paying attention to details. And, I will cause the insignificant to become significant, says the Lord. Sharpen your focus to see the tiny things, and magnify your ability to hear My still, small voice.
Proverbs 4:1 Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know understanding.

Message from a friend...

I saw storm clouds gathering and out the clouds came lightning with thunder. And, the Lord spoke to me and said, "Tell My people to find themselves in safe spiritual habitations for the days ahead of them will be laced with danger and judgment. Come into secure habitations. First and foremost you must walk in the Spirit, for evil is about to rain down."

If you will watch and learn, I will give you fresh perspective that will help you better understand where you are and where you are going. But, you must pay close attention to what I show you, says the Lord. Positioning yourself according to My will and purposes will guarantee your success. Proverbs 5:1-2 My son, pay attention to my wisdom; lend your ear to my understanding, that you may preserve discretion, and your lips may keep knowledge.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT!

In the book of Matthew 16:23 Jesus rebuked Satan through Peter saying " Get thee behind me Satan thou art an offence unto me for thou savourest not the things that be of God but those that be of men "

As a child of God, do you ever stop to ask yourself what you love or where your affection is? Is it on God or the things of this world?

Truthfully and sincerely answer this question and make amends where necessary. Jesus said not all who call me Lord lord but those who do the will of my father in heaven. Do not be deceived.

God Bless

I am bringing you into a season of divine fulfillment--a season in which you can grow spiritually. It will be a season in which new understanding will come out of the teaching of My word and bring forth the power of the Spirit. You will embrace the Word in a fresh way that will produce revelation to cause you to be greater than you are today. You don't have to ask Me to increase your faith; you just have to ask for direction and believe that I will show you the right way to go. And, you will have the complete assurance and guarantee that I am bringing you into the fullness of what this season has in store, says the Lord.

I see those whose hearts have become dull or even dead to life in the Spirit. I call you forth from being spiritually deaf to hearing My voice again. I call you forth from spiritual death to live in the Spirit again. Shake yourself awake and rise up to be alert and vibrant. These are times that require your alertness and attention, says the Lord. Come forth!

John 11:43-44 Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth!" And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Loose him, and let him go."

It is rare to find a consecrated life in isolation. A consecrated life always leads another life unto consecration.

A life that gives sacrificially, will normally lead another life to do the same. A life invested in prayer normally leads other lives to invest in prayer.

Critical importance of spiritual leadership:

When leadership sees, the people will follow suit.
When leadership acts, the people will follow suit.

Consequently, when people pray for their leader, encourage and lift him to the heights, the repercussions on themselves are great.

The devil knows this.

You had better know it too.
