E1 Community Church

E1 Community Church A community of Jesus-followers in Shadwell, Stepney and Wapping. We want to be a local, multi-voiced, peace-making church at the edge.

E1CC is a Baptist church, part of the London Baptist Association and the Baptist Union of Great Britain. We also have strong connection to Anabaptist values and convictions. We were 'born' out of Urban Expression church-planting teams and are still part of the wider Urban Expression family. We meet at various times during the week as a church community:

- On Wednesdays in the church hall of St M

ary's Cable Street, Shadwell at 6pm until 7:30pm, with groups for children and young people as well as a creche.
- On Sundays in different people's homes at 16:00 (children welcome) or 19:30 (adults only). We are also involved in different community projects including a winter Night Shelter, Tower Hamlets Foodbank and the Geoff Ashcroft Community which supports people who are isolated and vulnerable in the community. Living in Tower Hamlets, a diverse and fascinating borough, we believe that getting to know our neighbours of different faiths is essential to building better understanding and relationships with people around us, and so we're involved in a number of interfaith projects. We're also not afraid of getting our hands dirty and once a month for 'Helping Hands' we w**d, mow, paint or clear as we are needed! Once again we supported people who are imprisoned around the world for standing up for their rights. We joined in with Amnesty’s Write for Rights campaign, making cards for people in 3 other countries. Their stories are heartbreaking and it seems like such a little gesture, but apparently it helps them so much to get support from around the world
