Each year the CLC makes a special donation to ministries making a difference both in the UK and around our global Lutheran family. In 2026 we are contributing £10,000 to The Lutheran World Federation's Communion Solidarity Fund, which enables its member churches to help each other in providing rapid short-term response during unforeseen events. For example, last year the Fund enabled the following efforts:
+ In Ethiopia, following religious violence that destroyed homes and a church in Gatira, the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus supported affected families and rebuilt a temporary worship space, helping restore both daily life and community cohesion.
+ In Nigeria, after severe flooding in Yola, the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria assisted the most vulnerable people with essential household items such as blankets, mosquito nets and hygiene kits, alongside hygiene awareness activities to reduce health risks.
+ In Indonesia, after floods and landslides in North Sumatera, the CSF supported five churches to provide immediate relief, supporting access to food, shelter and basic supplies while helping communities to stabilise and recover.
