In the Quran, you'll come across a small mark that looks like a little 'w' (ู‘) sitting above a letter that's called shadda. It's not decoration, it's an instruction: double the letter and hold it with its full weight instead of passing over it quickly. Skipping it isn't a small mistake it can change the sound, the rhythm, and sometimes even the meaning of the word you're reciting. Tajweed rules like this exist to protect the Quran exactly as it was revealed, letter by letter, mark by mark. Next time you see that little sign, slow down and give it its due. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ“–
