This Volunteers’ Week we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who serves The Salvation Army in their own time.

Our volunteers bring their best selves, their God-given energies and their convictions to support our vital work. They are enthusiastic, committed and eager to give their time and skills to care for some of the most marginalised and vulnerable people in our society.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! We are so grateful for all that you do ❤️

[Image description: "Thank you to our volunteers." There is an image of two smiling women, one with blonde shoulder-length hair, wearing a white polo shirt with a red Salvation Army shield, the other has blue hair and wears glasses, with a green hoody. They each hold a white mug with a hot drink as they share a happy moment.]

Last week we celebrated Pentecost and today Trinity Sunday. We had a family visit us from the USA who were tracing in the footsteps of their relative who soldiered at Hampstead in the 1920s and then emigrated following the war. They offered their musicianship playing in the band and at the piano during our prayer time and following worship viewed the Corps History Book. We were also pleased to again have returning Comrades from Kenya share in worship.

Today we enrolled Kasey Williams as a Soldier. Kasey testified about her faith journey and finding a spiritual home at Chalk Farm Corps and her calling to Soldiership. Friends from Enfield Corps supported as Kasey had been made an Adherent at Enfield prior to moving house and settling at Chalk Farm Corps. Every Salvation Army Recruit completes a series of classes exploring our Doctrines and Soldiers Covenant (Articles of War). We pray God's blessing upon Kasey on her continued faith journey as a Salvationist at Chalk Farm Corps.

We had a full hall to join our Easter celebrations. Our Easter Choir sang; 'All hail the Lamb' and 'There is a new song'. After a word of Testimony from Bandsman Dan Newall the Band presented the hymn tune 'Hemsley' associated with the words 'Lo He comes with clouds descending' and before the message played the March 'God's children'. Following the meeting we shared in a fellowship lunch and the Band played outside on the terrace with many stopping to listen including a Salvation Army Bandsman from Sweden on holiday with his young son. Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed! Hallelujah!
