Born as Georg Friedrich Händel in Halle (Saale), Germany in 1685, the world-famous Baroque composer settled in London in 1712 and became a British citizen in 1727.
His birth city, Halle, is holding a Handel Festival (Händel Festspiele) at the end of May every year.
This year, the Handel-Haus Foundation commissioned a Playmobil figure of Handel, which has been released just in time for the start of the festival.
The house in Halle, where the composer was born, known as Handel House, has been a museum since 1948.
The German-born British composer George Frideric Handel lived and worked in London from 1723 till his death in 1759. The house on Brook Street in London is also a museum known as Handel & Hendrix in London.
