Christian Concern

Christian Concern We want to see Jesus Christ at the heart of society – we seek justice, speak truth and bring hope We engage on a wide range of issues.

Equipping you to be an effective ambassador for Jesus Christ in today’s culture. We’re passionate about bringing the love, justice, truth, freedom and hope of Jesus Christ to the heart of society. And we’re building a movement of Christians who share that passion. We believe that Jesus Christ is good news for society and as relevant today as he has ever been. We believe that a flourishing future i

s a future shaped around him. But we also know that it’s becoming harder to be a Christian in the UK today. So, we’re at work to make Jesus and his ways known, to protect the freedom to live and speak for him, and to empower Christians to be compassionate and courageous ambassadors. We do that by speaking and influencing, by challenging and protecting, and by mobilising and equipping. We also have three specialist ministries that complement our wider work: Christian Legal Centre, Wilberforce Academy and Wilberforce Publications.

🚨Pray for mother set for retrial after unprecedented judge recusal

Today, following unprecedented developments raising serious questions about judicial impartiality in Northern Ireland, the appeal of Claire Brennan, the first person convicted under the region’s controversial abortion clinic "censorship zone" law, will continue at Antrim County Court.

🙏 Join us in praying for Claire as her retrial begins today, for the Christian Legal Centre as we support her, and that justice would be done.

"Privacy matters. Dignity matters. Safeguarding matters. Women should not be expected to surrender those interests in the name of inclusion."

As the EHRC guidance was released last week, Roger Kiska breaks down how this guidance proves the long-awaited shift in culture and politics.

"This Code will therefore be seen not simply as guidance, but as evidence that the law is beginning once again to reflect reality and the values that ordinary people have understood all along."

Health Secretary James Murray has changed his mind.

He used to say "trans women are women" but now supports single-sex spaces for women.

But will he honour the promise made by Wes Streeting to meet the Darlington Nursing Union? There is a long way to go before women are properly protected in these private spaces.

What is the cost of legal fictions for women's spaces in reality?

Our Chief Executive Andrea Williams responds to the publishing of the EHRC guidance on single-sex women’s spaces.

"We must look back at the last two years and be grateful to God for the enormous progress made on this front. The new code is a significant improvement and every service provider will be at significant risk if it does not take adequate steps to protect women’s dignity and safety.

But we need to go further."

Protect Christian freedoms in medicine by using our resource and responding to this consultation by Thursday 11 June 🏥✝️

The General Medical Council (GMC) is consulting on new guidance concerning the personal beliefs and practice of medical professionals.

The draft guidance addresses how healthcare professionals may express personal beliefs and interact with patients on issues involving religion, ethics and identity.

While the GMC says the guidance aims to balance patient care with professional responsibilities, there are serious concerns that parts of the draft could undermine freedom of religion and conscience for Christian healthcare professionals and create a chilling effect on the expression of sincerely held beliefs in clinical settings.

The deadline to respond to the consultation is Thursday 11 June.

All members of the public are welcome to respond to the consultation, and you do not have to be a medical professional to participate. You also do not need to answer every question in order to take part.

Should MPs be free to criticise Islam?

A group of 27 Labour MPs have written to the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) to ask for a “formal investigation” into Reform UK for alleged ‘Islamophobia’.

Our Head of Public Policy Tim Dieppe writes:

“Alleging that criticisms of Islam or of Islamic practices are Islamophobic and in breach of the Equality Act is clearly an attempt to shut down criticism of Islam. Politicians, of all people, must be free to say what they think. It is quite shocking and disturbing that a group of MPs are effectively calling for the EHRC to enforce a kind of blasphemy code on politicians in relation to Islam.”

Sweden has just banned cousin marriage and other marriages between close relatives, with the law to take effect on 1 July 2026.

Our Head of Public Policy Tim Dieppe outlines the case against cousin marriage in an article on our website 👇

Banning cousin marriage would certainly have improved health outcomes for those communities where it is practised. It would also undermine clan loyalty.
