Jesus Christ…
Colossians 1:14-20 KJV
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: [15] Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: [16] For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: [17] And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. [18] And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. [19] For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; [20] And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Jesus Christ is the most important person we can know. He was not just a prophet or religious leader; he was the Son of God. Because he is God’s Son, he has all authority over everything that exists.
He is the definition of compassion and mercy. This is proved by his ministry on earth but more so by his death on the cross. He lived a sinless life, holy and pure, and sacrificed it to God as a substitute for our sinful lives. On the third day, he was raised to life again, proving his death was sufficient to pay for sin.
Because of Jesus, there is no need for a high priest to approach God on our behalf.
We have been made right through the death and resurrection of Jesus and so we can go directly to God with our requests and praise. Each time we approach God, we approach him wearing the righteousness of Christ, which he freely gives us when we trust in him.
There is no other person like Christ and there is no greater thing than knowing him. He loves you and wants a relationship with you. His love, his mercy, and his justice save the lives of many. Will he save your life too?
2 Corinthians 1:19-20 KJV
For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. [20] For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, never wavers between yes and no . . . he is the divine Yes—God’s affirmation.
For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in him. That is why we say “Amen” when we give glory to God through Christ.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was promised by God. He was fully God and fully human. He lived a sinless life so that he could die on the cross to take the punishment that we deserved for our sins. Then he rose from the dead, proving that he has power even over death and to assure us that if we believe in him as Lord, we will not die forever but will be raised to eternal life. Those who believe in Jesus will live forever in heaven with him
