We end this coverage from Diocesan Synod with a reflection from Ludovic (pictured) from our chaplaincy in Geneva.

"This was my first diocesan synod and I leave with a real sense of hope.
In a world that often feels divided, it has been inspiring to see people from across Europe come together in prayer, fellowship and honest conversation. The theme ‘called to be peacemakers’ has resonated deeply throughout the synod.

I leave encouraged, challenged and reminded that the church has a vital role to play in building bridges, fostering reconciliation and sharing the hope of the Gospel."

Amen to that Ludovic.

A wonderful opportunity to join in World Environment Day with the Anglican Communion

On Friday 5 June, Anglicans from around the world are invited to mark World Environment Day through an online prayer gathering hosted by the Anglican Peace and Justice Network and the Anglican Communion Environmental Network.

The gathering will include scripture, meditation, music and prayers of lament and hope, as we reflect on what it means to care for God’s creation. Participants will also hear from the Rt Revd Ernesto Manuel, Bishop of Nampula in the Igreja Anglicana de Moçambique e Angola, and Amal Sarah from the Renew Creation Project in Pakistan.

Two meeting times are available on 5 June.

Update from Diocesan Synod:

Last night our MES interns led evening prayer. After this we took time to pray for them and present them with books and crosses as their year with us comes to an end.

Please continue to hold Rufus, Ashir, Rachel, Logan, Noura and Andrei in your prayers as they move to their next part of their journey.

A big up to all of the incredible volunteers in all our chaplaincies 🙏❤️👏

All our volunteers give so much of their time, energy and talents - and without them, very little would happen!

This International Volunteer Week, we thank God and our volunteers for all the valuable ways they contribute to the life of our church community!

Update from Synod.

“The mixture of fellowship, with getting business done, all wrapped in worship and prayer has been fantastic."

Hear from Joe and Ruth as they take 10 minutes out of the busyness of the day to update us on our Diocesan Synod, which is now in its final day.

We continue in our prayers for all.

Who can you spot?

We start our final day at Diocesan Synod. As with every day it began with morning prayer, shared breakfast and Bible study.

Today we will discuss the caring for creation programme and progress, and also hear from our MES interns as they reflect on their year in their placements.

Then this afternoon we leave Cologne and begin what is for many people long journey back to their chaplaincies across our diocese.

Please continue to remember all in your prayers.

Update from Synod.

The theme of this diocesan synod is Called to be Peacemakers: 2 Corinthians 5:19.

We have spent time together in prayer and worship. This ensures our focus remains centred on our faith and the Gospel we proclaim.

We have spent a lot of time learning about and giving feedback on our developing diocesan strategy. We have also spent time on Bible studies with Bishop Robert and in powerful workshop sessions looking into what it means to be Peacemakers in our time and contexts.

Please continue to hold us all in your prayers as we move into our AGM and sessions on Safeguarding and Governance today.
