The Children’s Choir had a great day out in Cambridge this Tuesday. A full day of activities included lunch at Pizza Express, punting on the river, viewing the Caius Choirbook at Gonville and Caius College library and, most importantly, a joint service with the wonderful choir of Clare College, Cambridge. Thank you to Graham Ross, Jeremy Summerly and everyone at Clare and Caius College for making us all so welcome - a truly inspiring day for the children!

This half term we will be holding a Singing Day at St Luke’s on Monday 16th February for any keen singers aged 8 – 13. We will explore a variety of fun songs as well as working on some singing and music games to help improve our aural skills and working on some of the basics of reading music. We will have plenty of breaks throughout the day (when we can hopefully make use of the playground next door!), and will work to a mini informal performance in the church at the end of the day. Our ABC toddler group finished for the term yesterday with a wonderful Christmas party! Even Father Christmas made an appearance!

The Wednesday Morning coffee group at St Luke’s, ran by Mimsy had their Christmas lunch yesterday! They received amazing Christmas cards from the nursary children at Glendower School. What an amazing time!!

This Sunday our Christ Church senior choir was joined by our junior choir! They sung an amazing rendition of Sumsion in F and Vaughan Williams This is the Truth. The senior choir also sung Mendelssohn Psalm 42. We are so lucky to have such brilliant up and coming singers as well as our wonderful senior choirs.

This Sunday 5th October we will be celebrating Harvest Festival! We will be collecting donations for the St Luke’s Foodbank which welcomes and helps around 100 people and families each week.

If you are able to donate, you can bring items to any of our church services this Sunday or directly to the parish office.

We will have our 9:30am family service at Christ Church as well as our usual 10:30am at St Luke’s and 11:00am at Christ Church

What an amazing fair we had on Saturday!! Despite the weather forecast, the rain held out right until the very end. A huge thank you to all the volunteers, all the local businesses and shops who donated prizes, the parish office staff, the and . None of it would have been possible without them. We hope everyone had an amazing day!
