For peace

Let us continue to pray for peace. Saint Augustine, whose feast we celebrated a few days ago, said that peace “is like the miraculous bread multiplied in the hands of the disciples as they broke it and distributed it” (Sermo 357, 2)....

We are about to enter the season of creation, which runs from September 1st to October 4th. As you will know all Christian communities share a common call to care for creation. This year's theme is "Living Water", inspired by the vision the prophet Ezekiel had thousands of years ago.

We have many resources including intercessory prayers for creation; prayers for Daily Reflection; a Novena to Saint Francis of Assisi and a guide to Lectio Divina in creation.

There is information on the noticeboards in the church porch and by the parish hall. Prayers and information are also available on our parish website https://saintanneline.com/on-care-for-our-common-home/season-of-creation/

Also on the afternoon of 3rd October we will be showing a film on the environment. Details will be available in the newsletter and on the website shortly.

September 1st – October 4th is when the Christian family unites worldwide in prayer and action to care for our common home. We all share a common call to care for creation, and this year’s theme is…

Pope’s Prayer Intention for August – For evangelization in the city

Let us pray that in large cities often marked by anonymity and loneliness we find new ways to proclaim the Gospel, discovering creative paths to build community.
