The last time we asked, an overwhelming number of our church attenders described Custom House Baptist Church as a family church and that is true. We believe the family is God's special initiative for a peaceful and prosperous community. That's why we have courses on marriage, bringing up children, financial management and much more. Beyond supporting all things family though, we also believe that

we are not saved to serve ourselves but others too. You'll find we support a large number of charities and are forever raising money for one good cause or the other. It's the Christians' biblical mandate of course - we are challenged to 'never tire of doing good'

Custom House Baptist church has been around for a while (1906) The original members have all gone to be with the Lord now but we are grateful for the legacy they have left behind through their selfless sacrifice - A man called Henry Ambrose served as a deacon for 44 years! As Baptists, we believe in the equality of all believers. All are called, and all are called to serve. No chair warmers in our church. We stand on the promises of God, not sit on the premises of God. We are a rather multicultural/multiethnic church and have about 15 nationalities attending worship regularly. Everybody is welcome in our church. We are all together one in Christ. Period.

Recap from last week’s After I Believe sermon series.

We took a trip down memory lane to the 2020 lockdown which showed us just how hard isolation can be. Many struggled—not just emotionally, but spiritually too. Why? Because we were never created to be alone.

Genesis reminds us that it’s not good for us to be alone—not only in marriage, but in life. We need friendship, community, and a village around us. Most importantly, we need God.

We are created as social people: to love, to serve, and to be served. The early church lived this out by devoting themselves to fellowship (Acts 2:42), and Jesus calls us to love one another as He has loved us (John 13:34).

Faith was never meant to be lived alone. 💛
