DANGERS OF STAGNATION.
TEXT:GENESIS 26:13—33
22 He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth,[e] saying, “Now the Lord has given us room and we will flourish in the land.”23 From there he went up to Beersheba. 24 That night the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you and will increase the number of your descendants for the sake of my servant Abraham.”25 Isaac built an altar there and called on the name of the Lord. There he pitched his tent, and there his servants dug a well.
TODAY’S REFLECTION:
Stagnation is a very dangerous thing that affects life and progress.It is the enemy of ones destiny and receip to frustration.When water is stagnant it loses its freshness and becomes dangerous to human comsumption.It becomes the breading ground of all soughts of insects and frogs.It becomes infested with dangerous creatures like mosquitoes etc.
LEARN TO MOVE ON IN LIFE WITH FOCUS ON WHAT GOD HAS BEGAN IN YOU TO SEE IT ACCOMPLISHED.
IT IS TOO DANGEROUS TO ALLOW THE SPIRIT OF STAGNATION.
Stagnation may cause :
No progress No movement No increase No direction -Not advancing or developing -inactivity
THE ENEMY WANTS TO MAKE YOUR LIFE MOTIONLESS,STOP FLOWING,STALE,STOP DEVELOPING,INACTIVE,STOP ADVANCING OR STAND STILL.
Micah 2:10 says, “Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest.”
I.GOD RESISTS STAGNATION.
God is a God of progress.Stagnation is satans agenda to lock your destiny and delay fulfilment of Gods promises.
DON’T LET SUCCESS STAGNATE YOU
Deutronomy 1:6— “You have stayed here long enough”
Numbers 32:1— “Do not make us cross the River Jordan,we will stay here…”
Jeremiah 50:1— “My people like lost sheep around the mountain,Forgotten their resting place…”
Mathew 08:18— “Let us go to the otherside…….”
GOD BROKE STAGNATION EVEN IN THE MIDST OF SUCCESS.
DON’T LET DISSAPOINTMENT OR FAILURE STAGNATE YOU.
Judges 5:1— “There was no life till I Deborah arose,Arose a woman in Isreal”
II.STAY FOCUSSED TO AVOID STAGNATION
Isaac avoided stagnation.He could have stayed complaining about the situation but decided break stagnation with his actions.Everything looked difficult for him in a strange land but made everything become a testimony in a strange land.
YOUR ATTITUDE WILL DETERMINE ALTITUDE.
DON’T LET THE SPIRIT OF STAGNATION ROB YOU FROM MOVING FORWARD .
There are covered wells others are not seing.
DON’T FOCUS ON PROBLEMS BUT ON SOLUTIONS AND OPPORTUNITIES.
III.BE WARY OF STAGNATION.
DON’T ALLOW OFFENCE AND GRADGES STAGNET YOU.
Isaac refused to stagnet but learned to move on without gradges and offence.
Stagnation will frustrate your dreams,bread complacency,allow laziness and delay your vision.
DECLARE WAR AGAINST STAGNATION IN YOUR LIFE.MAY EVERY CAREER,MINISTRY,BUISNESS ETC STAGNATION BE BROKEN.
TODAY’S PRAYER POINT:
Heavenly Father help me see the reason for stagnation.I pray for wisdom to get out of this web that has delayed my progress.Oh Lord let the spirit of stagnation be broken from my life.In Jesus mighty Name Amen!!!
