Last week, our Director of Music attended the Production Conference in Basel, helping to plan this summer’s 20th anniversary Basel Tattoo. We look forward to joining forces with our colleagues in the Band of the Scots Guards and working with old and new international friends at this special event in July.

Over the last few weeks the Band of the Irish Guards have been busy supporting a variety of different events. These have included the State Opening of Parliament as a street lining band, a Brass Ten Piece in Westminster Abbey for the Florence Nightingale Service and multiple King’s Birthday Parade rehearsals and Changing the Guard ceremonies.

Tomorrow, the band will undertake the Major General’s Review, the first public rehearsal ahead of the King’s Birthday Parade. Will you be there?

There are just 75 days to go until opening night of the Basel Tattoo in Switzerland and we are delighted to announce that we are joining the international cast alongside our colleagues in the Band of the Scots Guards.
The last time these two bands travelled internationally for a military tattoo was in 2008 to Copenhagen, for the Rosenborg Tattoo. Please enjoy this video looking back to that performance 18 years ago playing the march ‘The Bond of Friendship’.

Will we see you in Basel between the 17th and 25th of July?
