Finchley Progressive Synagogue We are a diverse, inclusive community welcoming religious/non religious, all ages & backgrounds.

Our members are a diverse group, with a huge range of professions and interests. Many live within a five mile radius of the synagogue, but we do have members from much further afield who could not imagine being a member anywhere else. Shabbat Services and times:
Friday Nights - 6:30pm
Saturday Morning - 11am

2nd Friday of the month - family service
3rd Friday of the month - Shabbat Resouled

bat Resouled – The Service: is a Musical Friday Night Service held at Finchley Progressive Synagogue. with a band of 15 musicians, including: acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, keyboard, flute, clarinet, percussion and drums, mandolin, banjo, harmonica and the occasional trombone. Shabbat Resouled has already visited Zurich, Adelaide, Birmingham, Woodford Liberal Synagogue, Manchester Limmud and Limmud Winter Conference and the music is used in some communities in the USA.

Tonight, we welcome Shabbat at 6.30 with Rabbi Rebecca Birk and Sarah Wendy Burman. Please note, this will be the only service being streamed this weekend.
Tomorrow morning, we will celebrate the return of our children to Ivriah with Shabbat B'Yachad - our Family Service at 11.00 am. We open the High Holiday season tomorrow evening with Selichot which begins with drinks at 8.30 pm followed by the service at 9.00 pm at the end of which we will hear the first call of the Shofar heralding Rosh Hashanah next weekend. Shabbat Shalom to you all.

Our search for our next rabbi has begun!

With warmth and gratitude for the rabbis who have led and shaped our community, Finchley Progressive Synagogue is beginning the search for the person who will help guide our next chapter. Choosing a rabbi is one of the most important decisions a community can make, and we are approaching it thoughtfully and with care.

This year, we are inviting donations for two very important causes, our own FPS Renewal Fund: The final step in this process of renewal is to completely repay our loan, so that we may enjoy our place of worship in comfort and security for many years to come.

Chai Cancer Care which provides free, professional and expert support to any member of the Jewish community affected by cancer, as well as their friends and family. Many, many of our members have been supported by Chai and, now, we would like to support them in return. Next Monday 7th September Chai are holding a Gift Sale from 9.00 am - 7.00 pm - details below . . .
