What a delightful pilgrimage starting at the utterly wonderful Bosham, a break at at peaceful Appledram and arriving, bare foot, at St Richard’s Shrine Chichester Cathedral

Last Saturday we spent a sunny afternoon with the visitors to the Cathedral discovering some hidden treasures close to the Cathedral

Wandering from the Cathedral through busy Borough Market and out onto Borough High Street we found the last remaining galleried Coaching Inn in London; along to St George the Martyr and our attention was drawn to the different clock face on the east side of the tower - do you know why?

Then onwards to discover a pocket of tranquility by the Red Cross Almshouses and through Borough Yard where we could catch a little peek of the Cathedral.

There's so much to discover in and around Southwark Cathedral. Join the Friends and we'll make sure you have special opportunities to find out more

Sparkling wine on a sunny day, bubbles rising from your glass and twinkling as they catch the rays of sunshine - what could be more perfect?

BUT do you know your prosecco from your cava? And what on earth should you be looking for when buying a bottle of Champagne?

Why not come and find out the answer to these, and all your fizz-related questions at this fun, informal wine tasting event on Friday 5 June at 6.30pm

We're welcoming back Erica from Through the Grapevine who will help us sample at least 6 wines, all with a bit of sparkle and learn some interesting facts on the way, which will leave you more confident to talk about that most special of wines - sparkling!
