We’re so excited to welcome Mosaic Voices next week for 'Songs from Jewish Memory'!

In these uncertain times, an evening of beautiful music feels more special than ever. From ancient melodies like Mi Sinai Nigunim to beloved favourites like Dona Dona and Avinu Malkeinu, this concert will be full of warmth, history, and joy. It will be a chance to pause, reflect, and be uplifted through music carried across generations. Whether you know these songs or are hearing them for the first time, there’ll be something to connect with.

Performed in Ladino, Yiddish, Hebrew, and English by the award-winning Mosaic Voices (whose latest album reached No. 5 in the UK Classical Charts), it promises to be a truly magical evening.

We’re also delighted to be hosting the Still Alive Drawing Project on the night — a welcoming, Limmud-supported group celebrating the diversity of Jewish life through drawing. You can join them from 6:30pm to sketch around the building or pick up a board at 7:20pm and draw during the concert. No experience needed, all materials provided, and open to everyone!

Come along and enjoy the music—and creativity—with us. We can’t wait to share it with you.

We are deeply saddened by the horrific stabbing attack in Golders Green today. Our thoughts are with those who were injured, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.

We are grateful to the police and emergency services for their swift response.

We know this may feel like a worrying and unsettling time. If anyone would like to speak or needs support, our Rabbis are here and available. Please do not hesitate to be in touch

As we move from Yom Hazikaron into Yom HaAtzmaut today, we hold two very different emotions side by side.

Yom Hazikaron brings a quiet heaviness. It is a time to remember lives cut short, to honour those who gave everything, and to hold in our hearts the families whose loss continues every day. And then, almost immediately, comes Yom HaAtzmaut. The shift can feel sudden, even jarring, yet also profoundly human. From grief into gratitude, from loss into life. A reminder that hope does not erase sorrow, but grows alongside it.

These days speak to the importance of community, of holding one another through both remembrance and celebration. They call us to come together, to reflect, and to find strength in our shared story. Wherever these days are being marked, may they be held with compassion, connection, and hope for a peaceful future for all who live in the land.

This morning, news broke of an arson attack at Kenton United Synagogue, the fourth such attack in a month and the third in less than week.

Westminster Synagogue stands with everyone impacted by these heinous antisemitic attacks, as well as those committed to ending the scourge of antisemitism.

These are frightening and uncertain times. However, we will not be cowed by those who seek to destroy and terrorise us. Nor will we allow our Jewish way of life and our vibrant, diverse, and joyous community to be diminished by those who choose hatred and violence over love and hope.
