💗 BRA APPEAL 2026 – PLEASE SHARE 💗

Sanctuary for Sisterhood is asking for your support with its Bra Appeal, helping women and girls in communities across The Gambia, Kenya and Sierra Leone.

Donated bras are paired with sustainable menstrual hygiene kits and distributed through rural medical centres and schools to mothers, midwives and young students who may otherwise go without these basic necessities.

✨ Every bra donated can make a difference.
Please check your drawers for good-quality bras that you no longer wear and consider donating them to this meaningful initiative.

Please also share this appeal with your family, friends, colleagues, community groups and networks.

📅 Collection deadline: 30th November 2026

📦 Post donations to:

🐾 Celebrating All Pets! 🐾

Whether they have scales, wings, paws or claws, our pets mean the world to us!

Why not bring yours along to our Pet Blessing Service on Sunday 4th October at 3pm, outdoors near the café on Tooting Common?

And if your pet is a little shy, easily startled, or simply happier at home, bring along a photo instead. 🐶🐱🐰🐦🐢

We’ll celebrate the animals who share our lives and give thanks for all that they bring us — with a blessing for every pet, whether they come in person or in a picture.

All are very welcome!

This morning in church we focused on the story from Matthew 14:22-33…. Jesus walking on the water in the midst of a storm…
We reflected on Seigur Koder’s image of the moment Peter’s hand is grasped by Jesus…

What stayed with me most was your response: the words you offered — worry, waves, hope, hands, salvation — and the honesty with which you named where you feel you’re standing right now. In the boat. In the water. Reaching out.

Together we remembered this simple truth:
Jesus comes to us. He sees us. He holds us up.

On Sunday it was announced that, subject to the necessary statutory checks and procedures being finalised, our curate, Sarah, has been appointed to be the next Vicar of the Benefice of Wells St Cuthbert with Wookey Hole, in Somerset.

We will be so sad when the time comes to see Sarah, Rob, Joey, Addy and Zac leave but we are are sure that God will richly bless their ministry in Wells and Wookey hole.

It has been such a joy and a privilege to have Sarah as a minister with us over the last few years…we will miss her and her family and will keep you all in our prayers as you prepare to move.

🌟 Recognise 2026

Yesterday in our service we marked Recognise 2026, giving thanks first for all our lay folk who minister with and support our children, families and youth. Their steady presence, care and commitment shape so much of our life together.

We also give thanks for Jacob, our Youth Minister, and Jordan, our Children & Families Minister — for the imagination, faithfulness and heart they bring week by week.

Of course, no event would be complete without cake!!!! And especially a cake with candles!

It was special to take a moment to recognise the gifts and commitment of all those who minister faithfully with our babes, tots, kids and youth week by week! As Jacob and Jordan said…. You are all awesome!!
