🗣️ It was a spirited evening for our Great Disputation last night on the motion:

“This House believes that the West has not fought a just war since the Second World War.”

✅ In proposition were Lindsey German, Richard Norton-Taylor, and barnaby.raine.

❌ In opposition were the Rt. Hon. Tom Tugendhat MP, the Revd. and Rt. Hon. Lord Biggar, and Andrew Fox-online.

The opposition triumphed, but we are grateful to all of our speakers for arguing their case, and to everyone who contributed during the debate.

Thank you also to Peter Aiers OBE from the Charterhouse who acted as speaker.

The Priory Church hosted a public debate at the start of the Bartholomew Fair every year since about 1133 until the fair was shut down in 1856.

To mark our 900th anniversary in 2023, we restarted this event, and have maintained the tradition ever since.
