🥵 When the city feels a little too hot, busy and overwhelming, there are places to pause.

Tucked away behind St James’s Piccadilly, the Southwood Garden is a peaceful green space in the heart of the West End. A place to breathe, reflect, pray, or simply sit quietly beneath the trees.

In the middle of the bustle of Piccadilly, it offers a moment of stillness and sanctuary. 🌿

Come and find a little space to slow down.

🍽️ Oscar's Food for Thought 🍽️

It's FEAST night, and Oscar's in the kitchen creating tonight's menu using fresh ingredients rescued by our friends at City Harvest.

Today's mystery ingredients are:
🫑 Peppers
🥒 Cucumber
🧅 Spring onions
🥬 White cabbage
🍅 Cherry tomatoes
🌿 Coriander

So, over to you...

👨‍🍳 What would you make with this little lot?

Drop your recipe ideas in the comments and let's see who comes up with the most delicious dish. Oscar might even find some inspiration for a future FEAST menu!

Every week, surplus food that might otherwise go to waste is transformed into healthy, welcoming meals that bring our community together.

Join us for St James’s Day 🌿✨

On Sunday 26 July, we celebrate our patron saint, St James — one of Christ’s apostles and, for 2,000 years, the patron saint of pilgrims.

Here in the heart of London, and connected with pilgrims around the world, we gather to journey together in the spirit of hope, faith and love, travelling with God in new ways.

Join us in the courtyard for a day of worship, music and community:

⛪ 11am – Sung Eucharist
Celebrant: The Revd Dr Ayla Lepine
Preacher: The Revd Lucy Winkett

🍽️ 12.30pm – Patronal Festival Lunch
A celebratory bring-and-share lunch for everyone.

🎶 3pm – Choral Evensong
With music for choir and brass instruments by Joanna Forbes L’Estrange, Florence Price, Elaine Hagenberg and Charles Stanford.
Officiant: The Revd Lucy Winkett
Preacher: The Revd Dr Ayla Lepine

Everyone is warmly welcome. Come and celebrate our community, our patron saint, and the journey we share together.

A sketch of the future. ✏️

Architect Ptolemy Dean sketches the iconic spire of St James's Church Piccadilly - a landmark that will soon be carefully replaced as part of the Wren Project.

The current fibreglass spire was installed during the church's post-war reconstruction in 1968 after Sir Christopher Wren's original spire was destroyed in the Blitz. Having reached the end of its lifespan, it will now be replaced alongside the restoration of historic stone balustrades and finials, helping safeguard this much-loved London landmark for generations to come.

🎧 Hear Ptolemy Dean in conversation with The Revd Dr Ayla Lepine as they explore beauty, Christopher Wren's legacy, London's churches, and how reopening the South Door has reconnected St James's with Jermyn Street and revived Wren's original vision.
