Jain Network

Jain Network Jain Network’s motto is ‘’Live and Help to Live’’. The Jain Network was launched on 9th of March 2007 in London.

It is a result of an initiative by Jain leaders, Organisations and wider Jain Community. Its aim is to promote internal and external peace, friendship, equality, compassion, community cohesion, good citizenship, vegetarianism and care for the natural world by means of mentoring and counselling services. The network has purchased a spacious building having a property more than 12,000 sq feet built up

It has been refurbished to make it habitable and has beautifully carved wooden temple with semi structured idols (murtis) of Bhagwan (Lord) Parshvanath, Munisuvarat Swami and also Padmavati Mata, Community Hall, Seminar Room, Offices and ancillary facilities. The Network plans to demolish it in 2012 for a purpose built Jain Centre for the community activities and a place of worship for Jains and wider public. The planning application has been submitted for the purpose of building Jain centre and an approval has been received for the present premises for place of worship and community centre.

International Day Yoga - 21 June 2016

The first International Day of yoga was observed across the world on 21 June 2015. Thousands of people, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a large number of dignitaries from 84 nations, performed 21 Yoga asanas (postures) for 35 minutes at Rajpath in New Delhi. That day devoted to Yoga was observed by millions across the world including our own event here at the Jain Centre in London.

Once again, we will be celebrating this ancient art at the 2016 International Day of Yoga at the Jain Centre in London (64-68 Colindale Avenue, London NW9 5DR) on Tuesday 21 June 2016 and would be delighted if you could join us and our guests at 9.45am for 10.00am. Yoga demonstrations will be led by our regular Yoga teacher, Kalpana Patel and we are expecting Mayors of Barnet and Harrow to attend along with prominent community leaders. We will be serving refreshments and freshly prepared light vegetarian lunch afterwards.

I very much hope you are able to join us and would be grateful for your early reply to the Jain Centre office on 020 8200 0828 in order that we may make appropriate arrangements.

Last weekend we had amazing bolis for our 108 Parshwanath Jinalay and Jain Centre vidhis both in London and in Mumbai. Many labharthis have taken auspicious labhs for these vidhis which will be taking place on 4 and 7 August 2016. Many labhs have not yet been given with boli continuing later in June/early July. We thank everyone for their generosity and look forward to these wonderful days in August 2016 and beyond as our development progresses towards the Pratishtha Mahotsav in 2018.

We will be doing some further uchhavanis for a few more labhs on 30 May. You are invited to the Jain Centre, Colindale on Monday 30 May (bank holiday) to join us for 108 Parshwanath Bhavyatra which will be conducted by Hiteshbhai Shah from Baroda. At the same time we will be taking nakras for the remaining bhagwans - we already have over 30 of the 108 murtis booked and want to ensure that everyone has a chance and an opportunity to participate on this day. These 108 Parshwanath bhagwan's murtis will be in same shape and colour as those in situ at the 108 Parshwanath tirth dhams in India and will be featured within the world's first Ohm and Hrim shaped jinalay inside our new jinalay in Colindale. Please remember, we only have these opportunities in the UK once in a while and we must not miss out!
