Ash Wednesday Message
"Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love" (Joel 2:13). On this solemn day of repentance, we are reminded that our faith does not rest in our own strength or righteousness but in the boundless grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though we are dust and to dust we shall return, our hope is not in ourselves but in the One who took on our dust, bore our sin, and gave Himself for us on the cross. In Christ, God has come near to serve us with His mercy, to redeem us from death, and to clothe us in His righteousness. His faithfulness endures forever, and in Him, we find not condemnation but forgiveness, not despair but new life.
This grace compels us to a life of faith and love. As Christ has served us, so too are we called to serve our neighbors with the same mercy He has shown us. Our repentance is not just a turning away from sin but a turning toward the life Christ has given us—a life of compassion, commitment to justice, and love for those in need. As we bear the ashes on our foreheads, let us also bear the mark of Christ in our daily lives, walking humbly before our God, trusting in His grace, and joyfully reflecting His love to the world.
May this be a very special day for you!
