The moment when Sinead O’Connor is talking about whether she regrets the act of protest that destroyed her career and she says no, that it’s the proudest things she’s ever done 😭😭😭. How often do we get to witness that kind of artistic integrity and fearless truth telling? She stood up against something that would take another 30 years to come to light. And the way that all she had been through as a child seemed to prepare her with the steely toughness that could sing “War” in front of a crowd of 50,000 people jeering at her - but how it also took the toll that trauma does, and shook her to pieces when the world came for her head, and then abandoned her, as her world had also done when she was a child. The story contained within this new documentary is profound and so worth watching. “Nothing Compares” directed by Kathryn Ferguson.

This one is so close to being finished….. the drying process is a slow one at times, probably no bad thing. Anywho, thought I’d share the view inspired by a glorious walk the other morning out on the South Coast.
