Jamia Al-Karam brought the academic year to a warm and memorable close with its 'Evening of Appreciation', held on Thursday 23 July 2026 at Eaton Hall.

Hosted as an outdoor banquet before the main entrance, the evening was dedicated to honouring every student for their commitment, perseverance and contribution throughout the year. It was held in the company of the Founder and Principal, Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada, and Aunty Ji in the sisters' faculty, bringing students and teachers together in a spirit of gratitude and fellowship.

A particularly meaningful feature of the evening was the spirit of service (khidmah) demonstrated by the teachers and other members of staff, who personally organised the gathering, served the students during dinner and assisted with clearing and cleaning afterwards. Through their example, the teachers expressed that education is not only imparted through lessons, but also through humility, care and service.

The achievements of the graduating students were celebrated, with each receiving a gift presented by Shaykh Pirzada. The programme also featured uplifting nasheeds performed by the students' Al-Ni'mah group.

The evening provided an opportunity to pause at the end of another year, appreciate the sacrifices made by students living away from home in pursuit of knowledge, and celebrate the fellowship that makes Jamia Al-Karam a family.

May Allah Almighty accept the efforts of all our students and teachers, bless our graduates in the next stages of their journeys, and preserve the bonds of knowledge, service and fellowship formed at Jamia Al-Karam.

JAK CONVENTION 2026: CARRYING THE TRUST

On July 5th 2026, a congregation from Al-Karam Mosque, London travelled via coach to Jamia Al-Karam (Retford) for the JAK Convention 2026. The congregation led by Imam Mansoor and Imam Awais consisted of youth and elders from Forest Gate and surrounding areas, some who have joined us before and others who have attended for the first time. The third landmark event built upon last year's second edition with inspiring talks covering a variety of relevent themes including faith, leadership, scholarship, worship, public service, humanitarian action, illness, history and the future of Islamic learning.

Our very own Imam Mansoor delivered the section of the convention which was a special tribute to E-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, reflecting on the final witness of Malcolm X and his journey towards faith, humanity and courage. Al-Karam Mosque was honoured to have been recognised in the convention along with other mosques and centres who partnered with Jamia Al-Karam in the inaugural 2025-26 nationwide Accredited Alim Course.

JAK 2026 Convention also celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2026, including male and female graduates from the Foundation Diploma in Islamic Sciences and Classical Arabic, we are proud that among them was brother Hamza Abukar Hamza who has been a student and volunteer at Al-Karam Mosque since his studies began in our Madrasa. This along with the Accredited Alim course showcases the contribution Al-Karam Mosque has in the production of the next generation of scholars demonstrating a key theme of this year's convention of "Carrying the trust".

We would like to extend out heartfelt gratitude to all those who sacrificed their time and energy to come with us to this remarkable event. We hope that it was beneficial and inspiring and we are looking forward to the next edition of the convention.
