𝐒𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐌𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃 𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐒

On Saturday 26th September 2026, we gathered at our Al-Karam Mosque, in Forest Gate, London, for another instalment of our monthly Dars-e Qur’an after the Maghrib prayer. Continuing our journey through Surat al-Nisa’, the gathering provided a valuable opportunity to step away from the busyness of daily life and reconnect with the timeless guidance of the Qur’an.

The programme commenced with the recitation of the Qur’an, followed by Na‘t in praise of the Prophet Muhammad (upon him be peace). This month, Shaykh Bakhtyar H. Pirzada, Vice-Principal of Jamia Al-Karam, delivered a reflective commentary on Section 7 (Verses 43–50) of Surat al-Nisa’, exploring the theme: “Purity in Worship, Truth in Faith: Divine Guidance Against Distortion and Self-Deception.”

The session offered profound insights into the importance of spiritual purity, sincerity in faith, and remaining steadfast upon divine guidance. Through the Qur’anic verses, attendees were reminded of the dangers of distorting religious truths and falling into self-deception, whilst reflecting on the importance of honesty, accountability, and integrity in one's relationship with Allah Almighty.

The gathering concluded with a du‘a and a shared meal, bringing another beneficial evening of learning, reflection, and fellowship to a close.

We extend our sincere thanks to Shaykh Bakhtyar, our dedicated volunteers, and all those who attended and contributed to making this gathering a spiritually enriching occasion. May Allah Almighty grant us the ability to understand, practise, and remain steadfast upon the guidance of His Noble Book. Ameen.

𝗛𝗮𝗷𝗶 𝗜𝗹𝘆𝗮𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴

On Thursday, 17th September 2026, members of the community gathered at Al-Karam Mosque after Maghrib to remember and pray for Haji Ilyas Dawood Vali, who passed away the previous Friday.

Haji Ilyas was a much-loved and respected member of the Mosque community. He was remembered for his regular attendance at prayers, his quiet service to the Mosque, and the warmth, smiles and du‘as he shared with those around him.

The gathering opened with words from our resident Imam, Mansoor Mahmood, who shared fond memories of Haji Ilyas. Shaykh Bakhtyar Pirzada, Vice-Principal of Jamia Al-Karam, then led the congregation in the recitation of Surah Yasin and Surah al-Mulk.

Former Imam Allama Ijaz Ahmad Nerwi also joined the gathering and spoke about Haji Ilyas and the importance of remembering the deceased through Qur’an and du‘a. The programme also included Na‘t, the Qasidah Muhammadiyyah, khatam and collective supplication, followed by a meal.

It was heart-warming to see members of Haji Ilyas’s family and the wider community come together in such numbers to honour his memory.

May Allah Almighty accept all that was recited and offered on his behalf, grant Haji Ilyas Dawood Vali the highest ranks of Jannah, and grant patience and comfort to his family and loved ones. Ameen.

This Thursday, we will hold a special Khatm and Qur’an reading for the Esaal-e-Thawab of Haji Ilyas رحمه الله, ahead of his first Jumu’ah since his passing.

📖 Please spread the word and attend if possible.

🤲 If you can read Surah Yaseen personally, please do so and we will include it in the Dua.

On Sunday 30th August 2026, after the Maghrib prayer (7:55pm), Al-Karam Mosque will be taking part in the Al-Azhar International Day for Qur'anic Recitation by holding a gathering of a collective recitation of Surah Ar-Rahman and Surah Al-Wāqiʻah.

Al-Azhar Alumni UK presents the International Day for Qur'anic Recitation organised by the World Organisation for Al-Azhar Graduates. Take part with us in this worldwide campaign by reciting the Qur'an, strengthening your bond with this divine Book, and dedicating a portion of your day in contemplating over the Book of guidance in the house of Allah.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 ﷺ: 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱

On Saturday, 22nd August 2026, we gathered at Al-Karam Mosque in Forest Gate, London, for the AKM Mawlid 1448 gathering, in honour of the blessed birth month of the holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The gathering brought together members of our community for an afternoon of Qur’an, remembrance, reflection and fellowship, centred around the noble life, sublime character and enduring guidance of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

The programme commenced with the recitation of the holy Qur’an by Imam Mohammed Awais Maqsood, followed by a collective recital of Qasidat al- Burdah. Imam Awais Hussain then spoke on “Mawlid and its Significance,” followed by presentations from Imam Mansoor Mahmood on “Leadership in the Light of Prophecy” and Imam Muhammad Bilal Khan on “Faith and the Meaning of the Prophetic Life.”

The programme also featured a collective Qasidah Muhammadiyyah recital. The keynote address for the evening was delivered by Shaykh Bakhtyar Pirzada, Vice-Principal of Jamia Al-Karam, who delved into a moving presentation on “Light in the Realm of Souls.” His address offered an opportunity to reflect upon the spiritual reality and significance of the prophetic light and the unique place and favour of the noble Messenger ﷺ in the lives of believers.

The gathering concluded with a salam recital, khatam led by Imam Amar Hafiz, and Asr Prayer, followed by an opportunity for attendees to meet, connect and share a meal together. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our speakers, reciters, volunteers and attendees as well as the Imams and scholars who attended from outside of London.
