Wat Buddhapadipa in London is the first Thai Buddhist temple to be built in the United Kingdom. It was established by the London Buddhist Temple Foundation with the objective of creating a centre for the dissemination of theoretical and practical Buddhist teachings in Europe. "Wat" is the Thai word for temple or monastery and is used as a prefix to denote the name of a temple. Buddhapadipa is a compound word in Pali, the Buddhist canonical language, meaning ‘lamp or light of the Buddha’.

A Prince Who Endured Everything | Power of Patience | Canda-Kumara Jataka |

A Prince Who Endured Everything | The Power of Patience

This story tells of Prince Canda (Canda-Kumara), one of the Ten Great Birth Stories (Mahānipāta Jātaka), revealing a past life of the Buddha when he was a Bodhisatta.

Falsely accused and sentenced to death by corrupt ministers, Prince Canda faced cruelty, injustice, and the threat of ex*****on. Yet, instead of anger or hatred, he remained calm, silent, and unwavering. His extraordinary patience (khanti) became his greatest strength.

Through endurance, compassion, and moral purity, the Bodhisatta demonstrated that true power is not found in force, revenge, or authority—but in patience, wisdom, and inner peace. In the end, patience overcame cruelty, and righteousness prevailed.

This timeless Jātaka reminds us that even in moments of extreme suffering, patience protects the heart, transforms karma, and leads to liberation.

🪷 May this story inspire you to cultivate patience in your own life.

The Power of Renunciation | Temiya Jātaka (Buddha’s Past Life)

Discover the inspiring story of the Temiya Jātaka, one of the Ten Great Birth Stories (Mahānipāta Jātaka), revealing a past life of the Buddha when he was a Bodhisatta.

Prince Temiya was born into royalty with all wealth, power, and luxury at his command. Yet, recognizing the suffering and attachment that comes with worldly life, he chose the path of renunciation (nekkhamma). For sixteen years, he bravely pretended to be deaf, mute, and disabled—not out of fear, but to avoid harming others and to cultivate detachment from worldly desires.

Even when he faced the threat of death, Temiya remained steadfast, demonstrating that true strength lies in letting go, living simply, and choosing virtue over power. His life teaches that renunciation is not weakness, but a path to wisdom, peace, and liberation.

This timeless Jātaka reminds us that renouncing greed, pride, and attachment transforms the heart and prepares the way for awakening.

🪷 May this story inspire you to embrace detachment, live ethically, and cultivate inner peace.

Day 77 | January 10, 2026

Yesterday in Columbia, South Carolina, something truly extraordinary unfolded. These photos capture the Join the Walk event and Peace Gathering at the South Carolina State House, where thousands of people came together to walk with us and send us forward with love.

The streets were filled with hearts moving as one for peace.
The energy was powerful.
The unity was unmistakable.
The love was overwhelming.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us—who walked beside us, stood with us, and shared this sacred moment. Your presence made this day unforgettable.

This is what peace in action looks like.
This is what happens when hearts unite with one shared purpose.
This is living proof that peace is not just an idea—it is alive, growing, and blooming within all of us.

Thank you, Columbia.
Thank you, South Carolina.

May you and all beings be well, happy, and at peace. 🙏✨
