Nobody decides to stop loving Jesus.

You just get busy for him instead.

That’s the word Jesus uses to Ephesus – forsaken. Not a dramatic walk-out. Not a crisis of faith. Something set down and walked away from.

Neglect.

And Ephesus was a brilliant church. Hard-working. Sound as a pound. Forty years in and not grown weary. No church on earth had read more of what we now call the New Testament.

Two blue ticks on everything.

And they’d stopped replying.

It is possible to be right about everything and warm about nothing. Busy, orthodox, and dark.

But there’s hope hidden inside the word neglect.

What you’ve set down, you can pick up again.

He loved you first. He loves you still.

Are you keeping the good news to yourself? 🔥

Two disciples walking away from Jerusalem, heartbroken. Seven miles out, in the dark. Then they meet the risen Jesus, and they turn straight round and run back.

Nobody had told them to go. They went before they were sent. Not obligation – overflow.

In the final talk of our Vision Series, we look at the road back: why the fire and the facts belong together, why Jesus went first to the one who’d denied him, and why you don’t need to win the argument – you just tell people what you’ve seen.
