Welcome to the page of the Sodality of the Blessed Sacrament – a Roman Catholic confraternity dedicated to the promotion of devotion to Jesus Christ, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. Founded in 2016, the Sodality is based at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Covent Garden,in London. The church is a most appropriate home for the Sodality as it was founded in 1874 by His Eminence Henry

Cardinal Manning as an act of reparation for all the sins committed against the Blessed Sacrament during the Reformation and since. At the church’s opening, Cardinal Manning said:

"A sanctuary has been opened to be specifically devoted to the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament." Together with the Sodality, that aim of making acts of reparation to Our Lord for the crimes committed against Him can finally be achieved. You can find out more about the work of the Sodality on our website and we are always keen to welcome new members – whether they live in London or not! The Sodality has a global membership, who all help in their own ways.

Our Story

Welcome to the page of the Sodality of the Blessed Sacrament – a Roman Catholic confraternity dedicated to the promotion of devotion to Jesus Christ, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament.

Founded in 2016, the Sodality is based at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Covent Garden,in London. The church is a most appropriate home for the Sodality as it was founded in 1874 by His Eminence Henry Cardinal Manning as an act of reparation for all the sins committed against the Blessed Sacrament during the Reformation and since. At the church’s opening, Cardinal Manning said:

In 2018, to fulfil Cardinal Manning’s vision of this Sanctuary, Cardinal Nichols raised Corpus Christi to the dignity of the Diocesan Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament.

Together with the Sodality, that original aim of making acts of reparation to Our Lord for the crimes committed against Him can finally be achieved.
