A community choir is showing no signs of resting on its laurels after 10 years and with half a million pounds donated to a groundbreaking cancer research centre.

Last chemo… In progress!

Andy’s having his final chemotherapy treatment today. It’s amazing how quickly things become routine.

The cumulative effects have definitely caught up with him over the last few weeks. The extreme fatigue, loss of appetite and other side effects have made this quite tough on him, not that he’ll admit that, especially in company!

Now he’s moving on to 12 months of immunotherapy. Lots of scans, more waiting for results, but we’re feeling grateful and positive.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us, sent messages, sung with us, made us smile 😊 We’re lucky to have so many great people around us.

Completely mind blown following a fantastic tour of The Francis Crick Institute! The scientists were so generous with their time, considering most of us had no medical or scientific knowledge ❤️
We’re in good hands with this fabulous biomedical research facility on our doorstep.

Some experiences change the way you look at life forever.

A cancer diagnosis has a way of making you stop and think about what really matters. It reminds you that time is precious, and that if you have the opportunity to spend more of it doing something you truly love, you should grab it with both hands. We're very fortunate that our circumstances allow us to do that.

And it's exactly what Andy has decided to do.

After an incredible career, he's made the decision to retire from paid employment and dedicate his time to The Big Choir as our new Events Director.

If you know Andy, you'll know he's a lot of fun, and a real people person. He woke up full of beans today at the thought of starting his first day in his new role, creating memorable experiences for our amazing members. We already have so many exciting ideas in the pipeline, and I can't wait to see what he helps us achieve over the coming months.

On a personal note, I'm absolutely over the moon! Building The Big Choir together has been one of the greatest adventures of our lives, and knowing that we'll now be working side by side every day to raise even more money for Cancer Research UK feels incredibly special. I know this thought would put the fear of god into a lot of couples 😆 But we've worked together for many years.

Please join me in giving our new Events Director a very warm welcome. We have a feeling the best is yet to come! ❤️

A little something from our summer shows! 🎶🔥

Here’s a combined video of Kasabian Fire performed by our St Albans and Barnet choirs. While we didn’t have the luxury of dramatic stage lighting at St Paul’s, we hope the energy, passion and music shine through just the same.

Maybe one day we’ll have the chance to bring both choirs together on the same stage for this performance. Until then, we’re proud to share this collaboration with you.

We were so excited to visit Trent Park House of Secrets this morning, and wow… it really didn’t disappoint.

Having lost family in Auschwitz during WWII, I was really keen to learn more about this fascinating story. Hearing how Jewish refugees were involved in gathering vital intelligence from powerful German prisoners, held in Trent Park, helping to bring the war to an end, was incredibly moving.

There were a few fun moments too!

Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to bring these stories to life. They deserve to be remembered, and this museum does exactly that. We left feeling inspired, humbled and very grateful that these remarkable acts of courage will continue to educate future generations.

This is a fabulous new museum on our doorstep. So interesting and hugely informative. If you’re interested in local history it’s a must visit.

I love this man & I’m so proud of how he’s dealt with his diagnosis and treatment. None of it’s been easy but he’s almost at the end of his chemotherapy, just one to go 🙏❤️
