The Oak Community Church

The Oak Community Church We're a lively church based in the centre of St Paul’s Cray, Kent. Our aim is to impact our community Our aim is to impact our community with the love of God.

We reach out to the local community showing both the love of God through Jesus and His practical outworking in real lives. Some people call us the "No Perfect People" church due to our sign outside. It's a reflection of our intention to give a warm welcome to all people. Whatever your background, beliefs, personality or lifestyle - you're not perfect. Neither are we. That's why you're welcome. "Co

me as you are" with all your imperfections and join us as we meet a perfect saviour who's helping all of us to be more like him.

Experience the profound comfort of God's promise: He will be with us, wiping every tear and banishing sorrow forever. Live in the tension of present troubles, held by an unbreakable love.

Tragic scenes unfold as churches lie in ruins. In Nawakot, the Resurrection Church stands damaged with its pastor missing. Melung Church in Rasuwa is also destroyed, with 50 people unaccounted for. Shanti Bazaar reports 30 believers have lost their lives.

David's Psalm asks, 'Why are you so sad, my soul?' It's okay to question. But we hold onto a great hope, a sure hope in God who will save us.

Do you ever feel like you have to have it all together before you can come to God? 🌧️

We often rush past our pain to get to the 'positive' part of our faith, but Scripture shows us a different way. Before Jeremiah proclaims God's famous morning mercies, he sits in the bitterness of his affliction. He names it. He feels it.

Honest lament isn't the opposite of faith-it's one of its deepest expressions. Your doubts don't scare God. Your tears don't overwhelm Him. He invites you to bring your raw, unfiltered heart to Him today.

Take a deep breath and let yourself rest in His presence tonight. 🤍

📌 Save this for when you need a reminder to slow down, and share it with someone who needs a safe space to rest.

Even in silence, hope arises from the Lord's enduring love. His mercies are new each morning, a testament to His faithfulness. Trusting Him as our portion, we wait with expectation, for He is good to all who seek Him.

He sent His Son to the cross for you. Because He is the source of life, He wants you to experience His abundant Zoe life. We are given amazing gifts, but they aren't our security. May we be content in all situations, just like Paul.

Ever feel like your foundation is shaking? 🌪️ Or maybe you feel a quiet, persistent pull to lay something down? Or perhaps, you're enjoying a sweet, quiet season of peace.

God lovingly brings us back to Himself in three distinct ways: Disruption, Demand, and Delight. None of these are punishments-they are deep, beautiful acts of mercy to build your life on what actually lasts.

📖 "Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her." - Hosea 2:14

Don't serve your family, ambition, money, career, or pleasure. Instead, serve God and let His eternal life be your foundation. When this flows through you, people will notice something different.

Ever felt like you achieved exactly what you wanted, only to feel strangely empty inside? 💨

In Ecclesiastes, Solomon-a man who had everything-describes this feeling as 'hevel' (vapour, smoke, breath).

The things we chase aren't necessarily bad; they are genuine gifts from God. But when we treat those gifts as our foundation, we are trying to warm ourselves by the smoke rather than the fire. 🪵🔥

Today, let's do a gentle audit. Are we holding onto the gifts too tightly? Are we building our lives on breath?

Let's turn back to the Giver.

📖 Scripture: Ecclesiastes 2:1
🙏 Prayer: "Lord, help me to receive your gifts with open hands, but let You alone be my foundation."
