As part of their weekly commitment to service, members of Community of St. Anselm have spent every Thursday volunteering across London — including at L'Arche London, St. Thomas’s Hospital, and the Garden of Lambeth Palace. These experiences have been a profound expression of our call to serve with compassion, humility, and dedication.

This week marked the conclusion of this phase of their outreach, and we give thanks for the many lives touched and the deep connections formed. May the spirit of service continue to guide their journey forward.

Today is Pentecost, or Whitsunday, the day the Holy Spirit came down on the apostles, who then preached to all the peoples and nations in Jerusalem in their own languages.

A prayer for Pentecost

Faithful God,
who fulfilled the promises of Easter
by sending us your Holy Spirit
and opening to every race and nation
the way of life eternal:
open our lips by your Spirit,
that every tongue may tell of your glory;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

Reflecting on a transformative May, our community embraced a month of deep spiritual commitment. From the profound silence of a 30-day retreat to the hands-on service in church placements, each journey was a testament to faith in action.

Whether visiting distant communities, assisting in church houses, or dedicating time to prayer and reflection, every step taken was guided by purpose and devotion.

1.Bonnie and Belver have done 30-days Silent Retreat.
2. Sclarder Abbey the place of retreat.
3. Shena with the Parish of St. Paul Marylebone. Angleena and Shena have done placements in different churches: St. John the Evenglist Church, Kingston, St. Luke's Kilburn and St. Paul Marylebone.
4. Eve visited the Community of St. Mary the Virgin.
5. The prayer place of the Community.
6. Sheelu volunteered in data services in the Church House.

As we move forward, let's carry the lessons learned and the connections made, allowing them to inspire our continued path of service and faith.

We began the Lenten Journey of reflection and renewal, enriched by a special retreat, designed to deepen our faith and connection by Rev. Joshua. Joshua was a member of the Community of St. Anselm's first cohort.

Heartfelt thanks to Rev. Joshua for inviting us to Trinity College Oxford and organizing a beautiful retreat for our community with Lambeth Palace staff. It was a time of deep reflection, connection, and spiritual growth.
Grateful for the opportunity to come together and be renewed in faith.

On this Ash Wednesday, we come together as a community to begin our Lenten journey. With ashes on our foreheads, we are reminded of our humble beginnings and the call to repentance. May this season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving deepen our faith and strengthen our bonds with one another.

Let us walk this path of renewal, seeking God's mercy and grace. 🙏
