St Barnabas Bethnal Green offers a popular rehearsal space used by theatre companies and other organisations.

St Barnabas has three rooms:

- Small room, 5m x 5m

All rooms are well lit an
d there’s heating throughout. The building is secure, in a safe neighbourhood and has amenities such as coffee shops, restaurants and local shops on its doorstep. We’ve uploaded a number of photos of productions that have rehearsed at St. Barnabas, so you can get a flavour of the space, but recommend that you arrange a visit to see the building for yourself.

St. Barnabas is at the corner of Grove Road and Roman Road on the border of Bethnal Green and Bow. Streetmap.co.uk will give you a visual of the building location. The nearest Tube stations to St Barnabas are:
- Mile End (Central, District and Hammersmith & City lines) – an eight-minute walk away
- Bethnal Green (Central line)
You can get to St Barnabas on these buses: 8, 339, 277, D6. The number 8 bus stops directly outside.
*Who’s worked at St Barnabas*
Over the past ten years, theatre companies and organisations have been devising, auditioning, rehearsing and performing at our space. They’ve included musicals with casts of over 30, plays, a requiem, numerous concerts and performances, along with smaller development pieces such as readings and rehearsed workshops. The smaller rooms have also been used for social investment and other community-based projects. Companies and producers who have worked at St Barnabas include Sell A Door Theatre Company, Paul Taylor-Mills, Stage Acts Entertainment, Tamasha Theatre Company, Immersion Theatre, PLAY Theatre Company, The Okai Collier Company, The English Theatre Frankfurt, Union Theatre, Stepping Out Theatre Company, Chrysalis, Chisenhale Dance Space, Fallen Angel Theatre Company, The Jack Studio Theatre and Unanimous Cohort Theatre Company, Channel 4 Productions, Runaway Entertainment, Popular Productions.

Please get in touch via [email protected] for the latest hire rates. We can sometimes offer discretionary rates for charities. The space is often used in the evenings (from 6:00pm) and on Saturdays, but if you need these times and can book early enough we may be able to accommodate you. St Barnabas is not generally available for Sunday bookings.
